Flying restriction

Flying is great but…it ruins the immersion of the game. Flying should only be available outside of cities.

No one forces you to fly in cities.
If you don’t want to fly in cities Just pick a ground mount.

With all due respect, yours is quite the unpopular opinion.
If anything, I believe that more people would be on board with being able to use mounts indoors, especially in raid zones.

If it ruins your immersion don’t do it. Nobody is holding a gun to your head.

That’d be ok if the cities were well designed around being grounded. I only ever used Oribos as a transit hub to go other places, I’ve no idea where the bank or AH or other such institutions are - I only know where portals are.
Dalaran is fine as it’s well organised. Not sure I’d like to wander around Valdraken only on the ground, too scattered.
Haven’t been to the new city yet, will start my venture in TWW after lunch today. So can’t really comment on it.

IMO the issue (if there is an issue) isn’t with being able to fly but a lack of gameplay incentives to stay on the ground.

I still wish to be able to quickly fly around the city.

However, I wish they’d add more “dismount” areas close to quest NPCs, especially for the campaign ones, and also other areas like the Delves table, where Brann is standing and absolutely every mail box in the current and higher populated older zones. This has been grinding my gears for years :dracthyr_a1: :dracthyr_a2:

Troll thread

A city designed around being grounded should be having a teleportation network like the FF14 cities. Meanwhile I still frown each time I ever visit Oribos

I guess that’s one way to do it, never played FF14 so I don’t know it.

But Dalaran is great, although does miss an AH for non engineers.
The main area is compact and covers all your needs then there are sewers and side streets and basement or towers that can have story, pet battles, WQs, professions all nearby. I would almost never mount up and fly anywhere in Dalara (maybe to the Flight Master).
