Yo i think it would be great if you can have focus all the time even if target is invis.I mean not to target him but just to not have the focus removed.I feel like the game would be 10x smoother.I know some are gonna say some bs that it will take away from pvp ,but rn pvp is like way too much stuff and way too fast.So instead of duming down classes why not make targeting easier ,like for me targeting is the most sh1tty thing.Like im not spider to have hand with 10 fingers.Like especelly for new ppl targeting can be so overhelming and make them ditch pvp.Look classic simple and fun ,make wow simple again lol. What do you guys think
yup always hated that my focus target dropped.
A focus target is exactly like a target. It drops on Invis/Feing Death for the exact same reason the target does. If it didn’t drop for instance a Hunter could never FD a Kidney so that it goes ob the pet, or stuff like this. A hunter couldn’t FD a Chaos Bolt or GPie. A Rogue couldn’t Vanish it. A NE couldn’t Meld it.
Quite a bad idea.
I think he meant , make it the portait in Grey (just like when the target is dc’ed) when vanish or feign death is used.
Sounds like something a addon can fix if someone just want to make it.
Read name of each player when game start and store in a list. Set “addon focus key” to read from list instead and make a new frame for focus that uses a macro instead of focus.
So when you press focus arena 1 -> macro (spell) on list.arena1 etc
i think having focus123 and target123 (and arena123 for your spells) keys is good mitigation for any focus dropping issues, and good practice regardless for all classes
as shadenox said, focus having same mechanics as targetting sounds logical to me since it literally is just a register for a second target
This is the reason i never use focus macros especially vs druids
Rock iam online mostly from 8-13:15then i leave for work
Sure i’m online now btw
F Sorry i add u tomorrow
We are silly we should have just send btag from start hehe
Probably won’t ever happen.
Just fyi (maybe it might help) : you can right click on enemy arena 1/2/3 frames to focus them.
Also I personally use /focus [@mouseover] macro separately binded to for non-arena/arena occasions as well to “B”. It will put a target to focus on your mouse location on the screen.
And on top of that you can watch a video a friend of mine posted recently on this topic. Maybe it can help you out.
I didn’t even know you could use different spells in 1 macro :o
Idk why I can’t use ctrl and alt while playing, seems like my fingers can’t get those keys.
You can use as many spells as the character limit in the macro allows you, actually, between modfiers, stances and conditions, it gets really wild.
Ah OK, it seems very hard to me to remember which spells are in and where but I guess it’s fine if you play 1 or 2 classes ^^
It’s more out of habit. For instance back when I played Druid I had some macros that went like “if cat form use shred, if bear form use mangle, if moonkin form use starsurge, if caster form use something else” because then I didn’t have to redo my bars every time I changed affinity. But I knew that this one key was the second spell of the affinity, regardless of which one I chose, idk if that makes sense.
In the same way on rogue I have symbols/toxic blade depending on the spec in the same macro, and with a modifier it’s step and with another it’s one of my step kicks on target (and the last modifier is tricks of the trade but w/e). There isn’t logic, but as you play you add keybinds and you’ll remember them by muscle memory, that’s as simple. Sometimes when I play a class that I didn’t play for a really, really long time I still press keys expecting a spell just out of habit even though I didn’t remake the macro for this key combination.
Point is you won’t need to actively remember it. It will be there without you thinking about it.
Yes when it’s pretty much the same spells it’s fine but I mean from anbonis video he got like shadow mend and mind blast on 1 key, to me it’s not very optimal to remember but I guess it’s subjective.
OR you should keybind focus arena target 1/2/3.
You know, like players who wish to improve do.
It is, because you save a key. You cannot cast Mend on an enemy, and you can’t cast Mind Blast on an ally. So, let’s say your “easy keys” are 1, 2 and 3. You have 3 easy spells. But if you do that, you have 6 easy spells, depending on whether the target is friendly or not.
It’s more optimal than you think, it allows you not to end up with horrible krybinds because you want your 30 spells on 30 different ones so the last 5-10 are terrible to press fast.
Numbers in this post are example, right.
For sure it’s better, I might give it a try on my priest.
For now I just use healium addon for dispel/healing and utilities but it’s an addon.
Can’t post screenshot so I’ll give you a link instead https://s.yimg.com/uu/api/res/1.2/Kse1.2XIjDp1GcsoxLF91A--~B/aD0yODc7dz01ODA7YXBwaWQ9eXRhY2h5b24-/https://www.blogcdn.com/wow.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/healium.jpg

This add-on is really good especially for beginner and you just need to click on the icĂ´ne and not click on frame+use your bind after.
But when you do raid for example you don’t see anything on your screen :s
