Hey all,
What is the best method to target a BM Hunter’s main pet?
Im aware of their main pet having 120 energy, but have troubles actually targetting it in the midst of arena fights.
Any tips? 
There isn’t any real trick. If you see that only one pet of the 2 is either 1)zombie raptor or 2) Exotic pet,
it’s the one.
As a general rule of thumb I look for the pet having the leech/move speed buff, the second pet doesn’t have it, but for that you need to click them anyway
It’s pretty scuffed but you can click target the real pet from the blizzard enemy group interface. The additional pet doesn’t appear there.

i put the pet most often in focus because i cc and kick with arena123 macros so i dont need focus at all other than that idk

I use target nearest enemy player because I don’t want to target their pets. Probably worth using that option if you do.
If you can mark it with something really shiny before you get into combat do it. Most nameplate addon will Color the hp bar after you set a mark. And try to not focus it in open Field. Pull them behind a wall, root it or stun it if the enemy is really far. It really worth to focus down pet and use CDs under the process. Hunter without pet is literally useless.
Hi mate! We usually use cunning pets for the movement shenanigans. Unfortunately for us only the main pets gets the Pathfinding buff (a green leg icon) so if you target a pet and it does not have Pathfinding, you are on the wrong one.
Best way is the mentioned macro: /target arenapet123
