For Hope, Love and Glory

I guess many WoW players always wanted to safe some - for others perhaps unimportant - people in the world of Azeroth, but either never got the chance or were robbed of it by the narrative they were given by the game. This Topic is about the the small stories you would like to have being told or if possible have re-told with a chance for a small happy ending.

If I could ask for a quest(-line) it currently would be about bringing the surviving members of the Desolate Council back together with the person who rebuffed them at ā€œThe Gatheringā€ on the field between Thoradin’s Wall and Stromgarde Keep, in the Novel ā€œBefore the Stormā€.
Namely I would like to bring Annie Lansing and her mother together in a way that gives Annie solace and enables her to fogive her mother for turning her back on her at the first attempt of meeting.
I just enjoyed the story about bringing people back together who were separated so brutally and would enjoy becoming a part of it by mending a few broken hearts.

Runas the Shamed.

I would have liked to have had the ability to offer him comfort before he changed, or at least assure him he didn’t deserve his epithet anymore.

Listening to the dialogue when he withers and just standing there silently was heartbreaking.

Why you made me remeber that?! :sob:

Dude I was so annoyed about that lack of interaction I wrote a whole damn fanfic just so I could emote the way I would have done! :sob::sob::sob:

I demand said fanfiction for research purposes.

Apparently I’m not in good enough standing to post links.

Go onto Archive of our own and look for ā€œMy Friendā€¦ā€ by XProphaneX.

Hmm, I’d like to see General Hath appearing again. For those who haven’t heard of him, he was an Alteraci general back in the 2nd war, and he chose to fight for the Alliance instead of his treacherous king. Could lead to the rebuilding of Alterac and chasing the Frostwolves away for good, if we speak about happy endings. If not, at least we could get an updated version of Alterac Valley.

Also, Alliden Perenolde could still be alive, he was killable in Classic, but his status remains unknown. He’s the heir to Alterac and we know he hated his father for what he done and for how he shamed their name. He could tie into this too. Also, I like their sigil and wouldn’t mind a tabard and a horse mount with it.

So this is going to be a spoiler but I am going to say Derek Proudmoore.

What the ā€œhonorableā€ and ā€œpragmaticā€ Warchief of the Horde did is just cruel, there is no other word to define that dishonorable travesty. As if being pulled back from the peace of the grave wasn’t enough, Derek’s mind is being ā€œproperly conditionedā€ as we speak to ensure that he becomes a puppet of Sylvanas willing to murder his own family in their sleep. As we speak, Derek is being held prisoner below that wretched Zandalari pyramid, and not only is he alone in enemy’s land, but he has to deal with the horror of Undeath alone. At least when Sylvanas was raised as an Undead and regained free will, she had fellow Banshees to help her get over the trauma. Derek has no one, he is surrounded by people who hate him MERELY FOR BEING A PROUDMOORE, and the Warchief, who should sympathize with his plight, doesn’t care at all and is actively trying to turn him into a weapon against his own family. That’s all that Derek is to Sylvanas, a means to an end, not a person.

A man who died for his people, a hero, does not deserve such a fate. I only hope that, when the time comes, Jaina or Tandred will be able to reason with Derek and give him the peace he deserves, and I sincerely hope that Sylvanas burns in the Void for eternity for what she dared to do to a Human being.

Oh I like this. But how definitive can you get?

Personally, like some other games have done before, I would love to know the story of generic soldier no. 2395 and generic grunt no. 6543.

Why? Curiosity. Imagine being born in a place as chaotic, turbulent and violent as Azeroth, beset by threats that smash down even unto the foundations of the world. How would a normal, basic man/woman in service of the military react to this? To face the very real fear, or pride of being deployed into the frontline.

And if they were already embroiled in war, what would they think? Their last moments as they lie on the bed wounded and broken, or being abandoned on the battlefield.

Those are the kind of minor depths i’d like to explore, really. Minor/Major characters get their spotlight, but the people they keep sending to their proverbial deaths hardly get a chance to be ā€˜something’ or ā€˜someone’.

Not to me. I felt more sorry for that troll in badlands after he found out what happened to his wife.

NB did it all to themselves - such is the consequence of abusing magic to the point you cannot live without it.
But what annoyed me the most is that he was bugging on me. Dosappearing and running around, not showing quest and so I grown to dislike him.

Unironically adventure to Outland and bring over the remaining Maghar before the place crumbles further into the Nether. Thrall’s grandmother and Jorin Deadeye need a safe place to stay.
