Random Dungeon Finder is bad. There is very few people in the classic community that prefer it existing rather than not.
However, everyone playing on gehennas/firemaw, knows that LFG chat is literally impossible to read without bulletin board addon. So why don’t we add an LFG tool like the one retail has for M+ and raid? The one where you can apply and whisper the raid leader who has listed the group.
Please don’t tell me that LFG already exists, because the current one is terrible and nobody is even using it at all.
Just keep RDF, i really dont see how it hurts.
Im seeing more people saying they wont play wrath if RDF is removed then people being happy about it and i absolutely do NOT believe that it is a mayority of classic players that are against the wrath RDF tool.
RDF engages the casual/shy crowd into group content and the “classic andies” get to keep their social gatekeeping with raids, its a literal win win for player numbers i really dont get this change.
But yes if not RDF then lets atleast have a tool that is like the M+ tool from retail, i fully agree with this.
The reason you see more players complaining is that usually the people mad about something are the vocal ones, whereas the people pleased with something usually won’t say anything.
I also was vocal because i’m displeased with the current LFG tool and i want a new one
Yes but the vocal ones are usually the minority, thats the issue here.
If it was people crying about RDF and thats why they removed it then thats just a completely stupid change and catering to a minority which will hurt player numbers in the end.
Numbers didnt lie in the past, why would they now with a much more laid back and lazy playerbase or the people that have grown up and dont have the same amount of time to invest.
The argument that people who like RDF are the minority just doesnt make sense.
Also lets not confuse wrath’s RDF with retails system right now, i get the whole anti LFR thing but honestly i think how it was in wrath was the best system.
The casual/afraid/shy crowd that still love to play the game get to actually engage with people in dungeons and potentially find guilds/friends to play with whilst the more hardcore/“social” people get to keep their social aspect with raiding.
This looks like both a win win for corporate aswell as all the types of players that play wow.
I’ve already seen way more people saying they wont touch wrath without RDF.
Even if thats true (which i do believe to a small extent) its still a win win for both players and corporate to keep RDF, its engages way more people into doing group content meaning more potential people will find guilds/friends to play with meaning they’ll play longer etc. etc.
Not with crossrealm. Unless they plan to add crossrealm guilds.
Maybe i’m wrong but people tend to be less social, yet you expect them to be friend with a “random player” they can play with outside of the dungeon because they aren’t on the same server ?
Yeah i mean i dont think having more crossrealm like things would hurt wrath at all honestly.
Evidence is right here right now with classic and BC classic.
And no i mean more as in a way where RDF would engage the people who would never do dungeons let alone raids with actual group content and show them that it probably isnt as bad to have a bit of social interaction as they might think.
Personally right now im leveling in BCC and i havent done a single dungeon because i just cannot be arsed nor have the time to sit in a chat LFG, i’d much rather just go do some quests and feel like i actually did something that day with the limited amount of time im online.
I just think wrath RDF was the perfect balance of allowing both hardcore and casual players to engage with most of what the game has to offer and honestly, the numbers dont lie about it either in the past and i dont think that’ll be any different now with how much more laid back/lazy gamers have become.
