Forgot my password and went, as directed, to Blizzard Account Management, but can not see anywhere where I can renew it. It tells me to update but when I go to this part it asks for my old password.

As you found on our “Forgot Password” support page and the Blizzard Account Management link.
Click on that, it should take you directly to the "Can’t log in?’ page where you have the option to say that you don’t know your password.
You can then enter the email for your account and it will send a security code to that address. Use the code on the page which will then allow you to pick a new password!
