Form Macro Druid

Hi,

Currently I have a separate keybound macro for /cancelform, which lets me shift out of form faster than pressing the same form keybind again.

I was wondering if its possible to make a macro where it will put me in a form, e.g. Cat Form, and pressing the same button would cancel form. But essentially quicker than waiting for the global.

Would it be something as simple as changing all my forms to be macros like this…

#showtooltip
/cancelform
/cast Cat Form

Im not logged in at the moment to try it, just wondering… thanks. So out of form it would put me in the form, but in the form I can press it again and instantly remove the form without waiting for gcd.

Update: the macro above works how I wanted it to. Basically puts me into cat form and cancels form in the same button. So I can get put of cat faster than wiating for the tireless pursuit buff

Afaik it is not possible.

Entering a form is on the global CD, but leaving a form triggers a cd FOR THAT FORM ONLY.

But also it only costs a global to switch from a form to another. So dunno in what circumstances you would need that macro.
So if we say that you were in bear form and wanted to enter cat form, you would only need to press bear form.
The only thing you cannot do is leave your form and enter your form again in the same global (to clear out roots let’s say), since it has a 1,5s cd for that form only.

This was known as Powershifting and could be done using /cast !Cat Form.

It was removed. For what reason I do not know. More there is a GCD on shifting out.

What you can do is that some abilities activate cat or bear form without incurring a GCD, so that’s fun.

Feral shifting is weird nowadays.

I actually think it was specifically removed because of PVP. I vaguely recall that being done in WoD.

Yes, that’s true actually now that you mention it, and it was fine in WoD sort of, but now it’s absolutely asinine. We’re way beyond the MoP levels of ability bloat and slows.

I wonder if you can do /cancelform /cast Tiger’s Fury for a free root break on it. Tiger’s Fury shifts you with no GCD, and cancelling the form puts a GCD on the shapeshift buttons only. Maybe they thought of this but I’m not sure.

So for cat form, I like to play tireless pursuit, so I go cat and then press a separate keybind (which is /cancelform) and that gives me the speed boost faster than waiting for cat form to come off gcd. So I can cat form, cancel form and run fast whilst casting instants quicker that way.

So cancelform is actually really useful in pvp and pve if youre needing to run fast
