Forsaken npc quotes

I’m not sure if people have noticed and made topics based on these quotes, but I really feel the need to state some of them and what they could mean:

“Death to the living!” I heard this one first from the Forsaken in Stormheim, then in WoT and in Zuldazar where 7th-legion survivors were.
This one’s pretty obvious, it shows that the Forsaken’s goal is to destroy the living, possibly Alliance first, then Horde.

“The Horde… will be… hers.” (Death quote) this is a very juicy one. I heard this one in WoT and it stuck to my mind ever since.
This further proves that the Horde is just a mere destructive tool for Sylvanas, something she will abuse to the end then throw away once her goal is achieved. What’s interesting about this is that only Alliance gets to hear it, possibly trying to sow the seeds of redemption for the Horde again? All I could extract from this is that the Horde is being used in a bad way and that the only bad people are the Forsaken/Sylvanas.

“But at least I was at peace, I suppose. For a time. Until the Banshee Queen pulled me back from beyond and damned my soul into her service.” This one is new, a quote from Dark Ranger Velonara. It got datamined by WoWhead, a quest chain coming up in 8.1.5 for both Alliance and Horde.
Being undead and being damned seem to be two different things according to the Lich king in the Vol’jin quest-line. My own guess is that “damned” is the equivalent of getting bound to something here. I’m not sure if this was an oopsie by the WoWteam, was a retcon, or just a hint that Sylvanas has always been the lich queen behind the shadows.

From what I saw in the WoT epilogue, blizz doesn’t seem to be interested in using any plot twist on her character so far, so I’m fairly certain she will be the big villain of the expansion.

What do you guys think about these quotes? Do you have any other quotes to reinforce/counter my assumptions? Feel free to comment them down below.

Sounds like retcon and more villain batting. It’s boring at this point.

Who says we want that boi King approved redemption BS?

Sounds good for me. As long as all of stormwind goes down, I will be a loyal trooper.

These topics exist in the hundreds.

In the german version (I don’t play in english, maybe you just forgot to list the quote) they’re also saying “Do you hear the screams?”. It’s interesting that some people see the Undead as damnation (Velonara/Delaryn) and some as gift (Zelling). I don’t understand why both of them accepted the offer to be Undead, because you need a willing soul for this. And yeah, it seems that Sylvanas is the villain of this expansion.

That’s a Legion Quote.

The Forsaken have been reduced from an actually complex and compelling race into Saturday morning cartoon villains. Also, water is wet.

I’d say a faction that strives for peace has lot more likelyhood to win compared the faction that always creates chaos and is getting torn apart by itself, at least in blizzard stories this is the case. So Anduin’s forgiveness is likely to happen at the end.

Aww :disappointed_relieved:
Humans are like the nicest people I’ve seen, they’re even in par with the Tauren in terms of kindness, nobolity and honour, imo of course.

Stupid thing for me to say  everything exists in hundreds in these forums.

Than wowhead made a lazy mistake by branding it as new.

Hrm. Nah.

Nahhh.

We all had our first time at one point.

You’re 100% right. I don’t know what’s with BFA, but everything seems very one-sided and depthless in the expansion so far.
What you see happening is exactly how it is happening, there really isn’t any other point of view to justify questionable actions.

Well no. You see. Humans eventually have a breaking point. Tauren however would kiss you thank you instead and send you fruit baskets after you genocided them. They are masochist by nature.

I know lol. Baine banshing his people for wanting revenge after Taurajo was really dumb.

Ahhh, yes. More Baine hate plox.

I don’t hate him at all. He represents the Tauren in the best way possible. I just think that decision was dumb and made him look like he favoured the Alliance more than Horde.

When the time came and he needed the Horde’s help they turned their back on him and it was Jania what saved him and his people from being banished from the Horde by the Grim Totem

Sure, there is some issues Baine has but most of them are over-exaggerated to the point where it has just become a circle-jerk to hate him.

There is nothing wrong with someone on the Horde being reasonable to their enemies.

It is. To be a real horde you need to want to obliterate all Alliance races. No survivors.

I hate Garrosh just the same. One being him not care about the Tauren needs. But that isn’t an excuse for Baine’s actions.

And can you pinpoint me to the exact part and explain to me why it is bad?

All his meaningful actions are about Baine crying tears of fire for each slain alliance soldiers. And when his best bffs are affected, he starts whipping himself and betrays the Horde from behind. But other than that? Baine had zero connection to any other leader of the horde.

Alright, now can you give me a serious answer?

You’re right about the Horde’s ignorance when the Tauren needed them the most. The point is however, if you choose to be part of the Horde, then you must also learn to favour them no matter what.

The Tauren paid their debts to the Horde ~20 years ago and are still staying in the Horde to this day because they simply want to.

No one is forcing Baine to stay in the Horde, he could always join the Alliance or stay neutral if he wanted to.
