FOS Missing - 3x GM asked me to raise bug report to fix but still not fixed!

Hello,

I have been advised by 3x GM’s: Omlerdel, Riohschan & as of last night Swoshlyer, that I need to open bug reports and that my problem would be fixed (Glorious tyranny illusion + Duelist achievement missing from MoP Season when I earned 2.4k+)

It’s been over 117 days since I first started opening bug reports (I raised one every day until Feb) and It’s still not been resolved. Surely this is a simple fix (just provide me with achievement I earned with proof on my account)…

Can you advise why this hasn’t been done, and why GM’s advised me this would be the resolution path? 12 years old issue and 117 tickets is not acceptable tbh for a paying customer, trying to get a matter resolved is almost impossible with Blizzard which in any other company, you’d be able to seek compensation with a legal body.

If you could please read each ticket and the responses, you will see GM Omlerdel, GM Riohschan & GM Swoshlyer all agreed they see evidence on my character of achieving 2400+ in season 14 MOP on my character Celqis-Defias Brotherhood. They earned over 2400 (Duelist for EU was 2.2k, and as you’ll see if you please can look on my characters bag, you will see i have a 1h axe whi c h has the bloody dancing steel enchantment on it. This also proves i earned over 2200 as this was required in season 14 to even use the enchantment scroll.

GM Swoshlyer even said they can see it’s a bug with the FoS Duelist Season 14 achievement, and that it WILL be fixed, but it’s all up to the Devs, and the best way to contact them is via these forums.

Below is the response from GM Swoshlyer - please can someone from the Dev team come back to me on this 12 year old issue i’ve been trying to get fixed for 6-months now…

Hello brave Nathan! I’m Game Master Swoshlyer and understood from your words that you are missing the Feat of Strength Duelist Season 14.

I know the urgency of your request and that this situation is frustrating. I investigated your case further and had done my best searching, I found that this situation was caused by a bug. But worry not! Since this issue had been reported, our developers became aware of it and are currently working on a fix to be implemented as soon as possible.

In the meanwhile I’d advise (and this is really important) to submit a bug report on our forums of this instance, so our developers can continue to investigate all the affected accounts. You can submit a bug report by either going into the in-game ESC menu and click on report or simply by visiting our forums at: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/000015043

Many thanks,
Celqis

GM’s don’t take bug reports. Nor do they fix bugs.
Nor do the EU forums. The link he gave you is for the US forums, not the EU forums. The US forums do indeed have a bug reporting section.

In the EU zones, you report bugs in-game.

Only the developers fix bugs, and without properly filed bug reports, they have no idea that something has gone wrong.

Also important that they do not fix bugs for individuals. Any bug fix required will roll out for all players, when it is ready.

So basically it’s an endless cycle where this will never be fixed? GM’s say they can’t do it and palm me off to report bugs, but the bug reports will do nothing? lol

I also can’t report a bug / forum post on US forums because I don’t have a level 10 US Character? Wtf is this circus.

If you want to post on the US bug report forum, you need to add a US starter account to your existing bnet. Then level a character to 10.

However making a post on the bug report forum is no different to filling out a bug report in game. You will not get a reply.

Thanks for the clarity.

So essentially it’s just being palmed off and there’s nothing to be done / nothing will be done.

That is correct. CS who answer tickets have very little ability to do anything other than advise people to look at the Blizzard forums, Wowhead and submit bug reports.

EU forums have no bug report forums. US do, but honestly I’m not sure devs look at those. The only way to properly submit a bug report is in-game, for which you will get no reply nor acknowledgement and again, there’s no guarantee devs will look at them.

The only advantage of making a post on the forums is to bring an issue to light for others, which potentially may give a better idea of how many people may have been affected and, if possible, a work-around that doesn’t include Blizzard.

If you’re lucky, devs will get to it soon … but this is Blizzard Soon :tm: so could be months, years or never.

I’ve seen a Blue report here previously that any bugs relating to a previous expansion is classed as low priority and as there are LOADS of bugs relating to TWW that haven’t even been looked at yet, I suspect you’ll be waiting a good long while.

I think the best advice is to play despite the bugs and try not to dwell on them. Or don’t, of course

Missing good old days when GMs checked and verified stuff from logs and granted items / achievement after that. Gone far from that to wrong direction

Thanks for such a comprehensive response, I appreciate it  Yeah you’re right, suppose I just need to get over it…

Yea that was from simpler days too, nowadays systems are more interlinked complicated and requires dev instructions or framework to set up before GM’s are allowed to assist.

When GM’s “fixed” things some years back it could break characters entirely requiring developers to fix it due misflagging poorly - it appeared as if the achievement or quest was granted which is right but then broke progression further down the chain unexpectedly.
