I understand this is an old mount and an old topic, but with my 120 Druid I go into Un’Goro Crater and for the life of me can’t see any digsites, at all. Where else can I find fossil archaeology fragments, as the digsites just aren’t appearing at all for me, am I doing something wrong? Please help, thanks
It’s been a while since I’ve done archaeology but if I remember correctly you only get a certain number of active digsites per continent at a time.
So if you don’t see any in Un’goro, do any other on Kalimdor to have a chance to get what you want. It is however random which digsites will spawn.
For an overview on which digsites yield fossil fragments I’d suggest looking at the Casual Archaeology Guide on wowhead. It isn’t up to date but I don’t think they added new fossil digsites since then.
There is also an option to target specific fragments with Restored Artifacts from later expansions, I believe MoP and later, which might or might not be easier for you depending on your preferences, reputations and so on.

If you look at your map you should see little spades where the active digsites are. You might have to enable them on the map if they don’t show (not in game at the mo so relying on dodgy memory).
I was after the two handed sword - but that mount just dropped for me at least you now know it still drops

Just to note sorry I was wrong it was the dumb pet not the mount what droped for me. — And still no two handed sword which I refused to even name as it has become the stuff of nightmares to me taunting me!!
