With Outlaw focusing on range + melee attacks, imagine if Blizzard gave us a fourth spec that relies purely on ranged attacks.
A Gunslinger would dual wield pistols (new weapon type), and use rifles. Think of a badass cowboy vibe with this one. We have a pirate (Outlaw), and with a Gunslinger we would have the Wild West kind of vibe. A mobile shooter that relies on delivering critical shots at the targets from afar.

I would love a Gunslinger spec for Rogue (seems by far the most appropriate). Might not even make it too ranged, just have it with maybe 10-15y range, to support the gun kata fantasy and have you mix a few melee maneuvers in.
Considering Blizz recently said that the main thing about Hunters is their pets, the “non-pet ranged weapon user” niche is entirely open. Also, they’ve been teasing us with pistols ever since Cata, then gave one to Outlaw, and they’re doing it again with Brann in the next season.

Right now Outlaw isn’t really much of a pirate themed spec. It’s too focussed on stealth and vanish for its rotation. They could make Outlaw more into a gunslinger type of spec combined with some melee.

IMO, all Rogue specs but Subtlety should not be using stealth/Vanish for combat as an offensive CD (which it currently is). It’s one of my main gripes with both Sin and Outlaw - they feel like they’re forced to do Sub things instead of having their own ways to underscore their strengths.
