Fps drop on mouse over macro players

Started with 9.1 when I mouse over a players my frame rate drops by 30 fps for a split second causing stutter on the frame time it is only on alliance Players while NPCS and horde players are ok I also tried this out in classic / tbc classic and there is no issues.

Also it seems to be on only this character the other alt has not done Korthia yet

#Edit

Thanks to Keen we narrowed it down to ingame macros that are mouse over friendlies causing fps drops if blizzard can look into this that be great in mean time delete them or remove them from hot bar

Edit#2

Spell Mouse Over Macro that are on action bar will cause fps drop when hovering over players while trinket macros work fine without fps drop same with macros that are removed and stored.

same issue here- this fps drops are caused by mosue over macros. i reinstalled game, no addons still happens with mouseover macros, on fresh alt without macros there is no problem when i mouseover mob but on main char with bunch of macros is bad, if U delete mouseover macros problem is solved but i wanna keep them for healing etc… blizz plz look into it

Very interesting I would of not though of that but what you said makes sense with mouse over macros working on alliance for healing.

I went on my priest which had no heal macros I believe so would of not shown up same with resto druid but on hpala got a lot

I just uninstalled the game and redownloading now

Yep can confirm mouse over macros causing fps drops when hovering over friendlies

I have the same problem, after deleting all mouseover macros, the problem disappears, but it’s impossible to play without macros, please fix it.

Thought I’d add something else if you got spell mouse over macros on action bars they cause the fps drop while trinket ones are fine.

Heya everybody,

Thanks for all the reports. Our devs have been able to reproduce this and are on the case. Keep an eye on this thread for updates!

I’ve noticed a similar FPS drop happens with any modifier key, press & release shift for example. Possibly related to this

Yes this!!! I thought I am going crazy, but it is real. Pressing any modifier key (ctrl, alt, shift) causes fps to drop very low for a split second. Keep pressing the key it’s fine again, only that moment when the key is pressed or released. Game turns into a literal slideshow pressing those keys in rapid succession. It’s very annoying and gives me a nasty headache! Happens since the patch update yesterday!

Loaded game without any addons, it’s still happening. It starts after arriving in the actual game world, on character selection screen it’s not happening.

EDIT: someone in this thread said it seems to be related to the number of macros you have on your bars, so i went and had a look over my chars and I can confirm this! On a char with only 1-2 mouseover/mod macros the problem is also present, but minimal fps drop, on my Druid where almost every spot on the bar contains multiple binds via mouseover/mod macros the effect is devastating to the point of being unplayable.

I have exactly the same issue since the 9.1 PTR (and still going on since the 9.1 release). I wasn’t alone & insane at least !
I REALLY hope this will be fixed very soon (before Sanctum release for instance  ).

I have the same issue, but it also happens when you move with the map open. I tried with all addons disabled and although not as prominent, the fps drop is still there. It’s more noticable in The Maw and Korthia.

Same issue here. Went into a Key and sometimes i had the “Stutter” even tho i disabled all addons

100% on modifier, found this after spending several hours trying to resolve it…

I’ll just add that I’m having the same issue, and it seems to affect several chars differently. So my druid (which has plenty of mouseover macroes) stutters when mousing over enemies badly and not as bad when over friendlies.

Now, while on my ret paladin, I’m getting the same fps drops when I MOVE my char lol. Is it maybe because I have @cursor macros? Dear dear me blizzard, PLEASE get this fixed asap.

It also happens when just opening and closing the map.

simply having the map up causes the overall fps to drop by like 20-30 and camera becomes a bit hitchy if you look at it really hard.
I’m not using any map addons.

What about to fix freeze when you open worldmap in Shadowlands once patched?

This patch is a huge mess. indie dev…
