FPS issues

I run a brand new laptop and my frames are at 30’ish…
in raids it drops even lower.

Yes I’ve tried the addons disable, the reset interface, the repairkit. I’ve googled for answers for ages. Tried all suggestions: Nothing.

Below my DxDiag, please help?

What do you have your graphics settings at in-game ? The 3060 mobile is an OK device, but has only 6Gb of VideoRAM. The WOW recommended specs for Dragonflight show an 8Gb card is recommended (4Gb as a minimum), so already you’re below the recommended specs.

I’d suggest you crank your in-game settings right back and see if that fixes the issue.

Having the same issue as of today. Yesterday 120ish fps, today around 30 with the same settings.

The first things to check when playing on a Notebook are the power settings and temperatures.
Check the energy settings in windows if it is running in performance mode when playing.
Check for thermalthrottling. Easiest way is to enable the MSI Afterburner OSD with temps for GPU and CPU or have a tool like HWInfo log in the background.

What is your CPU/GPU load in WoW and are they running at their max(boost) clocks?
Your CPU should hit 4,6Ghz at max.

Also make sure WoW is using your 3060 and not the Intel UHD!
You can set the GPU under options.
Ignore the 8GB VRAM requirement unless you are playing in 4K with RT on.
I didn’t even hit 4GB in Valdrakken with 1440P and settings on 7 + MSAA.

Your CPU is only average for WoW, which is mostly singlethreaded.

I would expect your FPS in a 30man HC raid with addons around 30-40ish when everyone is going pewpew with CDs and BL.

You are very CPU limited in this game.
Most settings don’t do anything for FPS in scenarios with many players.

The only settings that reduce CPU load are the viewing distance and environmental detail.
They increase mesh quality and count, which the CPU has to prepare for the GPU.

I would not recommend going over 7 for those 2 if you want high FPS while questing.

Except raids etc., you should not have trouble questing at 60-100+ FPS.

EDIT:
Almost forgot, but make sure your RAM is actually running in dual channel mode and with XMP profile at it’s max supported speed.

I forgot I went on vacation, so a late reply apoligies.

I play WoW Classic (WOTLK). Should run it without issue right? I played around with the settings a bit 3 weeks ago, but it didn’t really matter what I did, ultra low, no addons the same.
