Framerates randomly dropping

all day today i have been having problems ingame with my FPS normally i play on a 90-120 fps but all day today it would just randomly out of nowhere drop to 10-20 fps not only is it really hard to play with such low frames but i did all the tests i could on my pc and no problems on my pc and even then if i just do a /reload my frames jump up again to the normal amount just for it to drop again to 10-20fps after just a few minutes i have been checking other games that would require more resources from my pc and they run fine with a hi fps without a single drop its only wow thats doing it

Edit: and yes i have done all the troubleshooting from this article with no success

Could be an addon issue.
Could also be an overheating issue.
Try without addons and also check the temps under load.

i have ran HWMonitor multiple times to check the heating and and its shown me that its perfectly normal every time

i did download some new addons recently mainly bartender 4, better wardrobe and transmog and KuiNameplates but even then those wher downloaded almost 2 weeks ago and the frame dropping only just started happening today

im a bit scared to uninstall all my addons and such tho i dont wanna loose all the bars and profiles i have set up

Some numbers plz. Also qhat are your PCs specs?

You can just try if disabling them helps, you don’t have to uninstall them.

i have a GTX 1080 16GB of ram and a AMD RYZEN 7 1700 8-Core Processor 3.00 GHZ

the temp mostly stayed around 40-50 degrees

the only thing with trying to dsable to addons wich i have done now its very random when it happends sometimes it happend 5 min after reloading then sometimes it takes 2 hours or so (i usally play allot for long stretches) also idk if it matters but the reload loading usally takes a while when i do it after my frames drop

Maybe it is a memory leak, when the FPS drops start, check the RAM usage of WoW.exe.
It should be around 3GB or less.

You can rename the folder. Or even trying with disabled. Addon settings are not deleted just like that. Quite often some of them do cause such problems.

i saw it at around 2,900mb when i was in dazar but spiked up to 3,500mb i went around to other places like taking a portal to old dalaran and such

might be on to something yeah i never see it take up so much memory before il look up some videoes for memory leaks

Edit:i aslo have been noticing the game will just freeze sometimes its pretty rare but for like 5-7 seconds it just stops idk if that has anything to do with memory but yeah, also i tried all the things that should fix memory leaks aka resetting the computer and such but the memory taken seems to not change much

i watched this video to learn about it and fixing it idk if he is reliable but he seems to know what hes talking about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSDAJNCVhjs&t
