Hi. I just wanted to ask, what’s the thought process for blizzard when they choose which realms I can transfer to freely?
I started playing wrath a long time ago on Thekal. Now that I came back after a long time to rejoin my friends, I saw that Thekal is completely dead, there’s not a single soul left here anymore, and my friends transferred to golemagg.
Then I logged out to see my options, and I noticed that there’s an option to take a free transfer, but only to 3 realms set by blizzard, and nothing else. So now I’m here with the only option to pay money for a transfer if I wanna play with friends, and I was just wondering, how is that fair? I pay sub fee like everyone else. So on top of all that, why are they expecting me to pay even more money to solve a problem that I had no part in creating?
Generally they offer FCM’s from high to low pop realms, especially if they experience high queue issues. Or special transfers like SOMs/HC to Classic Era.
Yeah I guessed so, but one of the realms they offer is mograine, which is “full” according to their in-game server browser. Just like golemagg, so I didn’t really see a reason why I shouldnt transfer to my friend’s realm instead.
Where do you see this offered as destination realm? For Wrath I only see Hydraxian Waterlords as a free transfer option.

They offer hydraxian waterlords for me too, but I also got the option for Mograine and Earthshaker as well. Which is nice don’t get me wrong, but still sad that I can’t transfer for free to Golemagg instead.
Interesting. There’s also another reason why they would offer such transfers which is to balance out factions but yea, for FCM’s you can only choose from the list.

Don’t think Thekal ever had Golemagg as a destination, even when it was acknowledged as dead, just Mograine/ES. Your friends all paid to go to Golemagg, and so will you.
