I transferred my characters from Gandling to Gehennas around a month or so after ZA was released, IIRC. A guildie discovered transfers were possible but it wasn’t stated on the blue post on the forums, I believe.
I think this is intentional. It is made to create panic and make thouse who were left behind to pay for paid transfers once free one are closed, before Gehennas would be closed completely in Firemaw style.

Wrong. It’s still working. You just can’t go directly from Firemaw to Gehennas (which you never were able to).
You have to first use FCT to Razorgore and then FCT from Razorgore to Gehennas.
hard to feel sympathy for a person abusing the transfer loop hole.

stop call it bug or loop hole, its bad design obviously intentionally intended by blizz themself since they dont wanna talk about it
its a blizzard service hence they responseble for it outcomes, also revoke the transfers

If I put down my tinfoil hat, I’d say it’s merely an oversight from the intern that is responsible for enabling free transfers. He just enabled transfers for Razorgore when it dropped too low and forgot that Firemaw free transfers are still enabled and FCTs ignore transfer cooldowns.
Verdict: Unemployed.

PVP servers aren’t that great. Whoever the majority faction is will make life suck for the other faction. It’s not good game design and it’s not fun. PVP servers only work with perfect balance and that’s impossible without moving people from server to server against their will.

They shouldn’t just lock transfers, they should send everyone who got a free transfer back to Firemaw. This is ridiculous that we have to have ruined servers because you messed up and aren’t going to fix it.
u are aware that THE PLAYERS chose to move from firemaw. you guys are sooooooo delusional. yes this was a mistake this shouldnt be possible to do, but after all if the horde wanted to stay on a balanced server they wouldnt have moved. stop being so blind, people dont care about world pvp, get this in your brain already

biggest server had faction balance for 3 years, us west has 20k pop server with 51/49 ratio, u been brainwashed by the retail community its okey, u can be cured jsut quit play retail
