Free Transmog Always

I think the question here is if the cost of it is crippling enough for them to consider it.

A single transmog in general is worth as much, if not less than what you get from a world quest out in Valdrakken.

I am someone who likes putting together transmog sets on my main and my alts as well. I feel that, unless you change your transmog every day, or two times a day, the cost is negligible. Because of this I see little reason why they should remove it.

What they can do instead is to give you one free transmog opportunity per month perhaps. As it stands tight now this pricing helps drive money out of the economy, and I would not want to lower the income of those who do not engage much with transmogging just so I can reduce my own expenses.

Hold on. I recently noticed too that my transmog was free, and I thought it was a bug or because I’m an Orc that just unlocked heritage armor?

But what’s the story behind it? Why is it free now?

It was free for a couple of days because of the Trial of Style event, which is now over. :C

This is the 100% reason why I never bother with Transmogs.
If its free then sure I’ll swap around when I get a new gear from instances or quests or reputation vendors, which is happening still quiet frequently.
So I won’t pay for transmog every time I get a new piece.

I change mine almost every hour…

This is by far the best idea on the forums I’ve ever seen.

We can change our gender for free but not our clothes. Lmao

Bring back the Brontosaurus :sauropod: then.

Imagine you have to pay money to take your clothes out of your closet every single time.

This for me is the issue. It really is too much.
It should be no more than 10g per item with a maximum cost per session of 100g or something.
I don’t run off the mogger when ever I get a new item, especially as the loot treadmill is so rapid these days.

The transmog cost over the years has got out of hand, when it first came out i remember a full tmog everything changed was 252 gold never ever above 300 and its just been slowly going up and up and now i genuinely had a 972 gold tmog this expac like what the hell?

Now i know generally player gold has gone up over these years but not for everyone, some missed mission tables, some missed easy gold farms and now thats created a gold problem the people at the top can reinvest easy and continue to survive in this ever more expensive market while the people who didnt make the gold suffer more and more every expac. Tmogs gone up 300% repairs have gone up 200-250% consumables have gone up and thats created a problem at the bottom literlly scraping gold to buy stuff to play and then you get 2 options quit or buy the token wow xD

Its always a great design when the devs increase prices for everthing generally by making mats scarce or just making stuff expensive because in previous expacs people got hella rich through stuff, so the devs in there infinite wisdom have decided everybody has access to the vast supply of the gold from these expacs cause reasons.

Your new to the game xD have fun farming gold to play or tmog or even repair wanna actually play right away tho buy token, your a returning player from years ago say cata or something you probably wouldnt have alot of gold wanna level profs? Buy pots? Haha buy token. Its not fun design when the most logical solution to solving this problem is buy token.

Like why i just wanna tmog all the time but nah cant im literally spending damn near 1k gold a tmog plus repairs 500 to 600 a time plus pots, food, flask, rune like averaging 3k a dun plus whatever repair ontop of that, like i cant spend my gold on fun things im living real life in wow with legit gold problems fun. And the solution wait till theres maybe a bouns for tanks to get extra goodies but that covers 1 dun maybe and if your pushing m+ raiding you aint got time for that. but you need time for that to get gold and that means i still cant just tmog for fun until its the fashion week whitch is once in a blue moon sadly.

Its just an anti fun design why artificially increase the prices of everything just cause a % of the playes have a surplus of gold, yea okay for them but the % of players who dont have a surplus of gold/didnt play back when gold rained down cant just have fun with it there gold in a game they gotta save, budget etc all that fun stuff you look for from a game.

And lastly blizz already had gold sink designs in game for the rich, there spider mount, there dino mount etc, so why did they need to increase the prices of everyhting its not to lower richs people gold they have those things ingame this is literally just a fun tax you wanna have fun with your gold nah daddy blizz says no you gotta pay the tax man in a GAME.

Its pricy if you change things alot but i think thats fine. aAot of raw gold gets pumped into the economy from quest rewards, mobs and trash items… The game needs some gold sinks, and tmogging is a good one imo. If tmogging becomes free there would have to be other goldsinks implemented. Like the brutosaur ah mount

I sometimes forget it costs so much to Tmog and end up spending 1000g+ on it in less than a day.
It’s really a drain.
Should be free, its just about looks: which is 90% of this games point, the rest 10% is skill-increase/gains.

Buying consumables, putting up orders and normal AH items, as well as repairs are already a drain.
We have too little income (imo) to justify 1k+ costs of Tmogging.

I agree with the OP, but even more, I’d like them to implement a “Lock transmog”-function that automatically applies to new items, so that your visible armor doesn’t change at all when you equip new stuff.

Every time I put on a new (visible) item, I instantly use the “Reins of the Grand Expedition Yak” with the transmogrifier to mogg it.
I know it’s a minor quality-of-life demand and I don’t even know if it bugs other people that much, but even when I’m questing and leveling, I find the game way more immersive when my character doesn’t look like a dressing room accident whenever I equip new gear.

It doesn’t make sense tbh.

And it’s not even cheap to begin with. Unless you are a void elf

but it stays in the economy because other people who do bother trying to make gold are crafting and selling you things. Its different than a gold sink like the brutosaur ah mount wich took 5 mill out of the economy. Without a goldsink there will just be more and more inflation ingame

This could work, it would justify the current transmog cost in most cases too.

Only downside is being fully geared and then this makes no difference.

So maybe this, and cut the costs in half.

Or,

This and make transmogging on a weekend free.

No dont make it free, remove it completely. Absolute crap feature that killed the game and made the game like a corny fashion contest instead of you visually gear progressing puke.

Actually one of the best systems to ever be added to the game. No impact on anything apart from allowing your character to look how you want, along with adding content through players spending their time collecting items for transmog.

Ive played since vanilla and the most annoying thing for me was having something not match. You can always opt to not use transmog to suit yourself if you wish.

Because it always was that clear and everyone knew exactly how all gear looked like and could identify it on others.

Even then druids couldnt show off their gear due to druid forms. And nothing stopped me from eating a deviate fish delight in vanilla to get a costume wich also hid it. Or use the staff wich transformed you into a furbolg.

Even in vanilla you had options to hide your gear
