#FreeTheTransmogs

It is, however integrity has been lost with all those universal items.

I 100% agree. I would love to make a battle-mage by mixing cloth and plate transmog.

Yep, give priest’s guns.

They certainly could loosen the restrictions somewhat.

Simple ones could be to make Hats, Boots, Belts and Gloves to be Free for all.

But I do think there is one line they should keep which is to keep Class Tier Sets from raids as only available to those Classes. No rogues running around in Justice Set for example.

Yea I second this, the excuse of having them separated for class identity has been thrown out of the windows since 2 expansions already with cosmetics anyway. I’m fine with having some items class-restricted (like tier sets and the like) but for everything else I think it’s time.

I just miss when you could select anything from a quest, like leather on a plate wearer. Ugh.

This is irrelevant to my statement, unless you see many warriors running around in leather. Warriors wear plate. The association of classes with types of gear contributes to the definition of roles and prerogatives. Maintaining some of that definition in visual customisation is good for the game, while the mentality of lifting all restrictions is bad for the game.

It’s an element of cohesion that contributes to giving meaning to the experience. Choices never matter if they’re not exclusive of other options. Me being unable to transmog plate or cloth solidifies my class as a mail wearer. Total freedom of choice comes at the expense of the meaning of choice. I think WoW should find a balance between the two, but it’s already heavily tipping towards freedom. It’s the same as with friction and convenience in game design, you need the right balance.

Some integrity has been lost, but universal items are still comparatively rare. I don’t see them as a good reason to renounce integrity completely. On the contrary, it’s more important than ever to treasure whatever remains of it.

To a degree, I don’t even think it’s bad that WoW has some silly cosplay options or universal pieces. It makes sense for heritage armours in particular, and the game does have a goofy side. But lifting all restrictions is too much, in my opinion.

you can use lion heritage transmog on any class
what is lil bro talking about

I have literally already responded to this matter in the same post you’re quoting. I’d expect an older sibling to be a little better at following along. Sadly, I can’t post pictures here, so words will have to suffice.

No idea whatshutalkinbout

You clearly haven’t seen my mogs :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

I’m supposed to be wearing mails, but I’m obviously not. :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Cosmetics are usually pretty obvious they are cosmetics.

Class fantasy and class identity are pretty important in an RPG, but tbh the only ones benefiting from this (depending on how you look at it) are cloth wearers. Plate wearers can already transmog everything under them, so they already look silly. Mail wearers can transmog leather and cloth, and leather wearers can transmog cloth.

If anything they should make it so a plater wearer can’t do all that, but that means taking away something from players that they could do since Vanilla.

As far as I am aware, I cant transmog leather or cloth items. I can WEAR the item at a significant loss in performance, but not transmog it.

Is that a new thing ?

If you are refering to class fantasy, I dont see any reason for Warriors in Robes (some already walk arround with plate-kinis half naked). Or a priest with plate. Some cloth sets already look like plate anywais.

Right, I checked on my Druid and it seems they were all labeled as cosmetic anyway.

My bad. That said, cosmetics seems to be pretty obvious. It’s usually event clothes which sets them apart from everything else.
