Freezing screen by using abilities - Ubuntu/Linux

Hey there,

I run WoW on Linux now and so far everything is very smooth, until I get into combat. Every time I use a ability my screen freezes but all my input goes through. I also streamed the game via Discord and surprisingly they don’t see any freezes. For them the game runs smoothly.

Any other activity in the game hasn’t made any issues so far. It’s just the combat that makes it unplayable for me.

Some technical specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x
GPU: RTX 3060
RAM: 32 GB
MB: X570-A Pro (newest bios)

OS: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS
Kernel: 5.15.0-86-generic

I installed battle.net via Lutris and out of the battle.net application I installed WoW.

Maybe someone has the same issue and has a fix or you have any suggestions?

Edit:
For testing I also installed WotLK Classic and there are no problems at all. I also disabled all addons for both versions.

It’s just the retail version where I have massive lags every time I press my buttons.

Solution:

After some more testing, I simply changed the screen mode from windowed to fullscreen-windowed and this fixes the issue! I really don’t know why, but when you play wow on linux in window mode you encounter lags while pressing abilities.

Stuck lot lately, especially dungeons, about week now, need stop game task bar, app still allow start game even wiew stuck. W11 and AMD Ryzen too, might be something about prosessor, thers similar conversations about this issue.
