Frequent Freezes in game

Hello Blizzard,

I am contacting you because I have gotten a game breaking bug right now. It started today after the daily reset and every 20 to 30 seconds or so my game freezes for about 10 to 20 seconds and then it starts again but the music and most of the sound effects are gone. This has made the game unplayable.

I need a solution for this problem or else I will have to ask for a refund for the game time lost because of this.

I have exactly the same issue it started today after the reset my game freezes time to time and the sound of the game is gone or it comes delayed like i used some spells and the sound of them came after 30 sec all together

ps i tryed repair the game still the same issue

The problem is because the game is downloading assets. Major bug.

I don’t know about the cause, but I have exactly the same problem. Sound effects are weird (sometimes the “boss down” sound comes after the boss is already dead for a minute, some effects are not heard at all) and I get frequent massive freezes (10-20sek).

Same problem, driving me nuts

Also can’t log in to classic at all, either black screen or hangs on retrieving realm list

By default background download will be slow, but the freeze-alike effect is either CPU or the storage getting “full load” from compessing/decompressing wow data (all core CPU load and large I/O on the drive).

Either disable limits, let it download all while not playing or restrict downloading while playing.

Literally same problem. Yesterday everything was OK.

Strange, I had the sound crap out on me earlier today (certain sound effects wouldn’t play), which is highly irregular. But mostly, I’m looking at huge lag spikes today that weren’t happening yesterday.

Yeah, was fine yesterday and have had background downloading for a few days, problem started today.

I have the same problem. Allready reinstaled and downloaded game and still same problem + sound is not working or have 30 seconds delay :frowning:

My game freezes for several seconds when im in dungeons, and im not downloading anything, and the sound dissapears also

I have the same probelem, this morning was fine i try to play now and nothing sometime every sound missing then i receved every sound at once sometime have a minute or 2 freeze (i have ssd for wow alone)

Forget to mentsion i have 2 - 5 min of loading screen and after thet the some amount of freeze s well.

I tried on my laptop, low fps as always but no freeze… only on my very good pc desktop… so strange

Have the exact same problem. Freezes as bad as 20 secs. Sound effects are gone or played with a 20s delay. Tried repairing/reinstalling game, tried rerolling graphics drivers and updating them. No solution yet. For me it doesn’t seem to affect classic just retail and PTR.

Is the BattleNet client trying to download anything for WoW?

You could try using https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer - launch it, then the game, alt-tab back to Process Explorer and double-click “wow.exe” to monitor it (and any wow-update or bnet related exe) and check if during freeze there is excess I/O or CPU load or is it just their servers (less likely).
