im extremly happy with the decision of adding a minimum amount of servers blizzard has made. if blizzard had added 5 fresh servers, we would have easily seen some of them die out super fast - playing on such a server is a huge disappointment. therefore: great! to have just a single one.
now - why the decision of adding just a single PVP server? because pvp servers are per usual the more populated ones? Think about the system - you force EVERY player who wants to go fresh, to play with pvp on permanently. its a decision the individual can do nothing against. Instead you could force EVERY player who wants to go fresh to play on a PVE server. then, anybody who wants can simply turn on pvp permanently, and have the same effect as playing on a pvp server.
what has led to the decision of going for a single PVP server? please consider what you are once again doing to your community blizzard.
This is why the decision completley sucks and they should reconsider and add a pve. Im sure most people would want a pve realm. If this isnt an option maybe add war mode instead to at least avoid griefers
I thought they would go with PvE, maybe 1 PvP and 1 PvE. I have very strange feeling that the pvp fresh server ends up mono-faction ( alliance ) after first phase / few months.
ahh but it is. out of those numbers you are forgetting how many will just unsub without a PvE. im quite sure that it cost them less a month to have 1 PvE server running on fresh. than the loss of subs due to no PvE

We will never officially know. But I think it’s fair to assume that Blizzard will be using fresh as a testing ground. There is a big outcry from some people about how much they love balanced realms and world pvp. If a fresh realm that defacto forces both of those things succeed then Blizzard will move other realms into the same direction, if people will start quitting after getting ganked 20 times on meeting stone then it will be proof that “world pvp balanced servers are great” people are not playing the game or are in a minority so small that is not worth serving and Blizzard will be more open for the idea of monofaction servers.
i strongly encourage all others that was planning on playing Fresh PvE to cancel their sub just like i have allready done. just remember to write it in the field provided when you unsub that its due to a lack of Fresh PvE. that way blizz will have the data. and if enough have done so before the weekend is over they might actually add one before pre-patch
but in my case this currently seems like the second end of wow for me. back in the day it was because i got bored with the way the game went. this time it is due to bad management from blizzard
If i had to guess, i’d say it is because it will only be a single server, and thus the factions will be relatively balanced (as opposed to each faction dominating a different server).
This presents an unique opportunity to have balanced PvP server.
Making it a PvE server instead would waste the opportunity (since faction balance does not matter there).
how about you pay for my sub then. becuase i aint paying to play on PvP servers. im a casual PvE’er. NOT a “hardcore” PvP’er - its simply not my type of fun
