Fresh Start Server populations

Hello, So ive never posted on the forums before, and im currently playing on Giantstalker

Since the release of dragonflight ive noticed a gradual decline in players.

I currently run a raid guild with 3 25 man raid teams. and there is maybe 3-4 more raiding guilds on the server with one raid team.

The AH is dead. lucky if there is 4-5 red gems for sale at one time. the price of Frostweave cloth is about 70s each seeing as their is hardly any around.

My Question is, Does blizzard intent to merge the Fresh start servers? or do cross realm with other servers? or anything really to increase the server populations.

Im sure we arent the only server with issues.

Fresh start is great. no GDKP raids or anything. mostly friendly people. But the server pop, the market , dead trade chat and no Heroic dungeons going sucks.

Thank you

Well, this is what you signed up for when you choose fresh start.

I dono why you are surprised now.

Blizard has never been the fastest when it comes to merging or managing server populations, Don’t get your hopes up.

Also Noone from blizzard reads or respond to these forums

Obviously this is what he (or I should say, WE, since I play on thekal) signed up for, you are correct. We wanted a dead AH, and a dying playerbase. Clearly we didn’t sign up for :

Very good take, thank you.

Regarding the original question posted:
Maybe the situation will change with ulduar’s release, maybe they will finally unlock the fresh realms (since they are among the smallest realms there are).

Good that you understand this.

Everyone knew that was going to happen since fresh server is such an odd and weird concept.

It was always known that they would not be popular and most people would not choose to start over.

That’s why we had 6+ hours wait on login in the first two weeks.

And where are the 6+ hours of queue people now?

People always go to the hype new thing but only have interest for the first 2-4 weeks, Then go back to their original servers or simply quit the game so they can move on to the next hype new thing that can hold them for another 2-4 weeks.

Or they are max level now and don’t have much to do.

That’s a big no. Cross realm will not happen in Classic and server mergers are very rare with a lot of issues.

They may open transfers and stuff like that though now when more than 90 days have passed since launch.

Keep in mind that what we today think is a dead realm was a high pop realm back in WOTLK retail.

Giantstalker is unique right now. Its the only fresh start at lvl 1 pve server. Changing that should not be taken lightly.

Then what is the point of the thread?

The OP said the server had low pop not just ā€Sleeping Popā€ that will wake up once ulduar comes

I didn’t know that. Noone in my guild knew that. The thousands of players still playing fresh and the several more thousand that quit didn’t know that. Obviously, we lack the enlightened state you are in.
Also, since when is this a ā€˜weird concept’? There have been plenty of successful fresh private realms, including warmane’s frostmourne, where the server was full (with queues) the first time around, and it’s still decently popular in its third iteration.

How could you not?

Seems pretty obvious that the ā€œFreshā€ servers would be less populated…

Fresh servers is just a hype thing, like how Lost ark had 1.3Million players in the first few days, But it then goes down and down in playerbase.

Fresh was just something people did during the ā€œHypeā€ state and then left, Not something that would stick around long term.

The people who actually wanted to play the game long term, choose the already established servers

I agree, but it still baffles me that any one thought fresh would be populated for more than a month.

You should have started on Thekal, it’s not dead server. Maybe giant stalker needs free transfers to thekal like jindo had.

First you have to understand that fresh servers are not attracting ā€˜normal’ players.

Fresh players are like a swarm of locusts, and when they’re done with their eternal quest for internet recognition (or failed it) they will go to or wait for the next fresh server, be it legit or pirate, to get another shot at what fuels their egos. (i.e. higher level than the curve, first epic mount, first crafting recipe X, first r14, made it to ā€˜ā€˜server VIP’’, etc)

Always has been like this, from 2005 to now. Honestly, no sane player would abandon one character after the other they put hours of their life into.

Bottom line is: never play on a fresh server, like even if you’re new then go to an established one, you will spare yourself from lots of toxic behaviour, negative encounters and drama.

100% right.

Who doesnt want to save that character and its ā€œprogressionā€ for the juicey pension we get by Blizzard in 50 years? Am I right? All the hours put down in to farming a pixel that at best is relevant a expansion, at worst 1 phase (or the moment you close that game).
It’s all the same time waste in the end, no matter how your brain tries to cope it.

Wouldnt want to be your underwear m8 …

Oh, I triggered a nerve here. And you liked your own comment, so you must be really desperate.

You may not be the brightest star in the sky, but you should at least treat yourself with respect.

You sound like a idiot bro. Dont have to hate on fresh lovers

It’s like baking, you enjoy making it and enjoy eating it and afterwards it all turns to poo.

Im very triggered by your very black and white way of looking at things and how you think some activities are acually worth anything more than others in WoW at the end of the day. Grr! So angry. Imagine not thinking the demography of fresh servers is homogeneous… ^^

Thanks for the non-reply, get some hate of ur chest and stay in ur invested underwear.

(Also, Im not sure I understand what you mean with the liking of my own comment. But nice to know thats you take your time to check who likes my comments - speaking of time investment ^^)

Thats why process oriented thinking gets u further than result oriented thinking ^^ The cookies are poo, but you have the experience ā€œforeverā€.

Agreed, i’m on giantstalker horde, levelled to 80 almost solo seeing barely anyone around the whole time (empty rdf as well) and at 80 i couldn’t even get into hcs if it wasn’t prime time.
Tried to pug raid for a week but there’s nothing lol
Right now there’s 200 people online, 3 quequed for hc, a few for raid (no groups just single people as usual), 3900 items in ah (horde).
Please just merge or give transfer already.

if we did get transfers etc, how does that work for guilds? do we take the whole guild and the bank etc with us?
or do we lose it all?
