Friendly nameplates addon

Hi, I’m looking for the nameplates addon which:

  1. colors by class both my team and enemy team (arena)
  2. Displays by debuffs nicely to track dots
  3. I can easily tell a difference between my team member and enemy team
  4. Enemy cast bar is clear, visible

In other words, something that will help me track my team mates in solo shuffle : D

Point number 3 is the most important for me, and it’s something which in my opinion is missing from most addons there.

Should be able to do all 3 of those with the built-in nameplates. That said:

Customize em how you want and/or snag a setup you like from https://wago.io/plater

Thanks for the answer, but can you elaborate on that one? I’d love not to use any addon, so that would be my first choice if possible. But how can I make friendly namepletes colored by class look different from enemies (apart from little red text which is not visible)?

Class colors is a CVar. US servers are down right now so I can’t look up the specifics but you can use https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/advancedinterfaceoptions to look through all of them.

As for differentiating between friend/foe, people in arenas generally do that by putting raid icons over their allies heads, rather than using nameplates.

I personally like the default nameplates

There is an addon that lets you color default nameplates any color you want, its called NameplateColors, you can find it on curseforge.

I personally show friendly nameplates in npc green and a bit smaller aswell. Theres also addons that make it smaller. So theres a clear distinction and it also wont cluster the screen too much if its smaller. You wont find npc green anywhere else in arena so you instantly see where your team mates are

These addons are very lightweight and easy to set up

Thanks a lot both of you! I will try that tonight : )

give us an update once youre done hehe

I’ve been testing it for a couple rounds of solo shuffle, and using nameplate colors mixed with arena team marking add-on works well for me.

What I do is by default I disable my team nameplates, and let the marking happen. However, as it’s a bit buggy, if it messes up I just hit a shortkey for displaying friendly names with a bigger font, and it’s all good.
