Friendly reminder: dont undercut!

Just a friendly reminder that there is no need to undercut prices of our crafted things on the AH. If you post an item with the same price as an existing post, the last posted items will be bought first. Undercutting items by a lot because you dont think they will sell is one thing. But constantly undercutting fast selling consumables doesnt give you any benifit, it only drives down the prices.

Quite often if I’m working the AH, I’ll undercut by 1s because I want to differentiate between the new listing and my previous listing. This makes cancelling the old listing a lot easier.

As for other crafting items. I’ll undercut massively to scare off the competition and generally make my life easier. Bags for example were selling for 250g on my server, but I found if I turned my back for 10 minutes someone had relisted over me. I resolved that by dropping the price to 80-90g and listing loads of them.

I am doubling my investment, and I’m selling way more bags and making more gold than before. Everybody else want’s a 200g profit, so they just hold out until I get bored (Spoilers: I don’t), I have the market to myself and don’t have to keep cancelling and relisting, so I can enjoy other parts of the game. I have made an extra 250k in the past 7 days on bags alone.

Lmao.

No.

First posted item will be bought so keep undercutting so I can buy my stuff thats made by this trash profession system.

The Blizz UI told me that as a pop up when i tried to undercut. Dont know if i had some tutorial option checked or something. So. Yes.

No – now it is LIFO (last in first out).

The items you are talking about apparently have a huge profit margin of at least 312% for you to still make a profit with that massive undercut. The items im bugged by the undercutting is the consumables, dime-a-dozen items with very slim margins (10-15%) that i try to make at least some gold out of since im totally screwed by my real professions.

If you’re buying straight from the AH, crafting and selling them again you’re not going to make any gold in the current system unless you do 2 things:

  1. Rely on inspiration procs up to Rank 3.
  2. Buy when reagents are cheap, sell when Items are in demand.

The price of both Reagents and consumables fluctuate throughout the week quite considerably.

This past week, I found materials were Cheapest on Monday, and Consumables sold highest between 16:00 and 19:00 on Wednesday. The price dropped a little on Thursday but then picked up again on Friday, with a slow fall off as the weekend has gone on.

I would suggest you buy in Bulk this Monday. There will have been plenty of people playing over the weekend, so plenty of materials around to pick up cheaply. And then wait until Reset to craft and sell them at a higher price. That way you’ll get the extra Knowledge from the Weekly to improve your skill/inspire chance.

I will undercut you.
I will force you to give up and stop listing at the same price as me.
I will inject single stacks of wares for much lower price to bait you into listing your entire lot at a loss by not paying enough attention.
I will get all my undercut items sold so I can immediately restock and place new ones, at even lower price, preventing you from selling anything at your desired price.
And after all of this, I will still make a profit because I analyzed the market properly. The 10, 20, 30, 100g I undercut you by won’t matter in the long run when I will earn millions.

Thats the idea.

A little over dramatic though.

Wow, you must have won at LIFE itself!
