has wow become to disneyfied?..
I think judging this on one expansion might be premature but certainly I did find there to be a few too many Kiddy quests in DF. Helping kids with whelps in Waking shore or with a baby gnoll in Azure Span or the stroppy teenager running away in ohanrahan plains.
It’s not like we haven’t had kids in game before, such as Li Li in MOP, but this expansion did overdo it somewhat.
I hope that Chris Metzen as Narrative Director will pull back on this for the next few expansions.
DF has been a mess narratively in other ways too so I think this may jut be a symptom of nobody having control over the storytelling and so it got away from them this time.
Yes it have, and hopefully it will change in the upcoming expansion, even though I do believe TWW cinematic has been the worst one so far. At least the DF cinematic was a pure snore, while the TWW was actively a pain to watch.
Still, the global atmosphere of the cinematic does indicate we’re no longer going to deal with MLP tropes, at least.
WoW was always a cartoon.
nah it wasnt… the graphics and artstyle has been abit cartoonish yes but with a balance and the lore was more grit than now, that was the thing that made wow unique to other games such as warhammer who is 100% grit.
Warcraft has always had a sense of humour. Lots of silly quests and storylines as you level. Not to mention just about every expansion has had a poop quest of some kind.
nah they put fillers of silly jokes in to small quests so the game wasnt 100% serious it would be very odd if they didnt, but main course was always serious.
I wish people like you would stop acting in such blatant bad faith.
It hasn’t for a while. Abut the time everything became offensive. Paintings, emotes. Saying WoW has a sense of humor these days is not accurate.
i dont really care, i dont need some super dark edgy game world that exclude everyone but adults.
id rather have more players and yes also kids.
it has become a family friendly content.
i once saw on reddit kids young as 7 starting WoW and the parents are proud that their kids are following their footsteps.
I don’t have a lot of time for the fruit, renaming of items in game etc or becoming more prudish with how armour looks. I’m more in favour of choice. On the other hand I don’t care that much either. I believe a lot of the changes were made to appease upset staff after all the harassment etc.
But I’ve always enjoyed the sense of humour quests along the way. It’s not all super serious stuff.
story has become family friendly. gameplay overall has not imo.
mythic raiding and high keys are not for 7 year olds
I just think the european and american humour is different. Seems to me the yanks maybe see 12 year olds as more need of protection from some content
PEGI 12
Games rated PEGI 12 may contain more detailed and realistic-looking violence towards fantasy characters. However, while there may be moderate violence towards human characters, there must not be any sight of blood or injuries, or an emphasis on pain, during violence towards humans. There may be moderate horror sequences, such as characters in danger and jump scares, as well as disturbing images, such as sight of injuries or dead bodies, provided these are not too gory or graphic.
Milder forms of swearing may be present but not the strongest terms.
While sex may not be shown, there may be sexual innuendo and sexual activity can be implied (eg a couple getting into bed). The type of suggestive posing and dancing that’s familiar from music videos may also be allowed, although there will be no sexual nudity.
Games rated at PEGI 12 may also contain in-game purchases. If a game contains such purchases, this will be indicated by an icon on the box, as shown below. Where these purchases are for randomly selected items, you will also see the text ‘In-game Purchases (Includes Random Items)’ beneath the PEGI rating and content icons.
Definitely feels like some of the things removed were not necessary to meet the rating.
Well so did I. Hillsbrand Foothills Horde questline is the best thing in WoW.
I notice this happening with a lot of things in entertainment that become famous, at some point they start taking themselves too seriously and develop this specific type of narcissism where they think it’s their duty to teach everyone some moral lesson.
I tell them what I told everyone else who did this. Cut the crap and just stick to making games.
it’s… actually a pretty good insight.
Far from it, even if we counting ud questline tirisfall starter quests are much better, silverpine too.
yes but your like 0,01% of the playerbase go play something else then, no offense but the game is in such a bad state because of people like you, blizzard is loosing alot of money with this woke BS and trust me there will be a big change incoming.
Nope, def not Disneyfied to me.
I would hate an expansion that was all doom and gloom and constant fighting…sounds really boring. Like an entire expansion set in The Maw!
im sorry if i went to harsch on you but when you come and comment like that can really be a trigger numbers dont lie and your vision of a game is not healthy/profitable and you should consider what other think not only what you think, game doesnt revolve around you, and if i was the only one feeling this way i would be a hypocrit but i know there is a huge population in wow who feels this way.
