Seems there’s a bug with the friends list after todays patch. All freinds that are not Battle.net friends have been lost.
Additionally you can’t add non battle.net friends as when trying to do so it gives the following error:
“Unknown friend response from server. Player not found”.
Have reported as a bug but thought i’d highlight it here also.
Given the factor that wow is a social game, I am disappointed that this was apparently not made high priority and has not yet been fixed. I hope we can expect this soon to happen.
Ever since the recent updates on a lot, I’ve even attempted to disable my addons, I cannot see any friends in game anymore in my friendlist, I see them “Online” but when I press O they’re not there, any suggestions to help me with this issue, it’s rather annoying, it shows my b-tag friends only, not my ingame friends, I try to re-add but they’re already there somehow, and adding new ones still doesn’t show.
I had that bug a long time ago, years at this point, so not sure if this is a solution. But it is what I did back then to fix the problem.
Copy your interface folder, WTF and addon folders respectively. Place them somewhere safe - as you will use them later.
Then I deleted the said files in the WoW folder. I started the game, and I could see the friendlist as per normal. I then reintroduced the different folders, found that it was one in my addon folder that was the problem.
So I disabled all addons and found the problem child by activating them one by one. Was a bag addon of all things.
Hope this helps you find a solution to your problem as well If not, I am sure someone else got another fix for the problem!
