I just want to start by saying, I like Undermine. It has a nice vibe, great music, solid visuals. But that’s about where the praise ends.
This morning, I woke up excited, buzzing with anticipation for “the new content,” the gazillion changes, and the hyped up new features. But now I’m not just disappointed, I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore.
How can something that looks so cool feel so empty? So dull? So absolutely non-rewarding? I played for three hours, and where did it get me? Right back to standing AFK in the hotel, staring at my screen in existential dread.
Where is the endgame, Blizzard? Seriously. There’s ZERO endgame. You’ve left us with a weekly cache and a normal OP floodgate dungeon where people with 610+ gear can literally go to bed and let their pet finish it for them.
So I’m back to AFKing. Back to watching my bank account slowly wither away while I pay for… nothing. But hey, at least there are tokens
What I’d like to share with anyone who finds themselves getting “mad” at a video game, is to make sure they have meaning and fulfillment outside of it. Because when a game is just one part of your life instead of the center of it, it’s a lot easier to enjoy it for what it is, rather than what you need it to be.
Don’t worry life coach my existence isn’t hanging by a thread over a dungeon queue. (it is) but I have meaning fulfillment, and even touch grass occasionally.
I expected quality**, engaging, actual content, something to justify the hype. You expected disappointment, so you pre coped by lowering your standards to the floor.
Have you actually taken the time to walk around? There’s so much going on, so many little details everywhere… Honestly if you’ve completed everything in 3 hours you’ve just rushed through it. I’m like 7h in and taking my time to enjoy the process, still not finished with the zone quests nor campaign.
If your aim is to finish all quests as soon as possible then yes, you will be bored the rest of the week.
If you’d read the news you would’ve known that end-game comes next week when the season starts.
Then go play something else, you don’t have to afk.
I walked around. I took in the sights, admired the little details, soaked in the atmosphere…and then realized I was basically on a beautifully decorated ghost ship with nothing to do.
Seven hours? That’s not “taking your time,” that’s tourism. You know what else is coming next week? My next subscription payment.
I mean, that is maybe a sign to consider. Yes it is always the same issue, huge part of the player base will be unhappy and forced to play something else for a week.
At least Blizzard could be a bit more transparent about what will be open / closed and when, and give something to do, to the general playerbase.
but you know it is transition week and next restart we are getting new raid etc? I mean I like the idea of that kind of transition week, where you can finish some stuff, maybe start new one and prepare for next season.
let me give you things you can do as example while you waiting in this week. Entire list is not perfect or full, but, as I siad - examples:
-Clear current riad tier on normal/heroic/mythic
-Go for Tier 11 and clear all devles. You might be surpirsed what you will get as rewards!
-Did you done all quests on siren isle and got all achievement in order to get mount? Igf not, you can go for it
-If you are unfamiliar with profs you can try train two major profs and level them - it will take some time if you don’t want grind AH but instead go into the wild and gather ores/herbs etc
-Maybe time for fishing?
I mean it is a lot to do in one week for you : ) and you can always clear all previous raids and dungeons for achievements/mounts!
That there’s a break between seasons? That’s by design so people with less time can experience the new patch without the pressure of starting a new grind.
That maybe you didn’t have an active sub and bought one now instead of next week? If that’s true then are you new? There’s never new endgame on the first week of a patch.
Are you mad because you can’t get your wow fix? Then fire up another game, or watch netflix or something, or go outside and get on that vitamin D grind.
Why is this not a choice? I don’t wanna take a break, I wanna gear up and spam mythic+ like a madman, why am I forced to do nothing for 1 whole week because some people “feel pressure”? Self-inflicted pressure, by the way, it has nothing to do with game design.
The people who have this kind of anxiety disorders aren’t gonna push keys anyways so why should the rest of us wait?
If this has been a recurring topic for years maybe it means something needs to be changed.
