First of all this spec is nothing like what it used to be if we are to compare it with how it was back in WotLK. Although we have our 2h back, our frost strikes ( with rune of razorice ) hits harder than normal obliterates which is why we have absolutely no pressure outside of Pillar of Frost. Blizzard either needs to buff flat obliterate damage or the legendary called Koltira’s Favor. The thing is, as of now frost dk’s main purpose is not those massive obliterates but an aoe stun and chillstreak burst which makes the class too dull to play. If you are to push cr in the arena you must go by this playstyle otherwise you will not be achieving much.
What must be done to get the old playstyle back ;
Obliterate damage seriously needs to be buffed.
Koltira’s Favor buff.
Blizzard needs to revert death strike since it is useless but it is considered the class’ only reasonable defensive besides AMS.
Death Knight Presences need to come back.
Permafrost Talent buff.
PoF nerf needs to be reverted.
Runeforge nerf in PvP must be reverted.
Chillstreak PvP talent removal since Blizzard would not let us erase everyone with the buffs which I mentioned.
What would Frost DK be like after these changes?
The old Juggernaut of WoW that we all love could finally come back. Dks would defend themselves for a little longer when the healer is cced, and not die instantly against physical damage. It could finally be viable for 2v2 and still do good in 3v3 considering the grips.
Without these changes DKs are : Worst survivability, low damage without chillstreak burst window, WORST SELF HEALS.
With these changes which have been mentioned : Decent Survivability, Good single target damage, Good self heals = The old playstyle of Frost DK.
