I am currently 624 Ilvl and I am really struggling with single target damage during raid bosses. Whilst most other classes are easily maintaing over 1 mil DPS throughout the encounter, mine spikes at the beginning but then massively takes a hit as the fight goes on.
I just did Queen for example, most other classes averaged over 1mil DPS but mine barely held 750k.
During m+ I don’t have this problem and generally top the damage meters averaging 13-1.6mil.
Does Frost DK just suck single target or is it just me? (I am BOS build)
The first frost dk to appear on wc logs on queen mythic is on position 278 currently. Followed by 304 and 336. If that’s any indication that Queen isn’t a particularly good fight for DKs.
ON HC queen the first one is 133 followed by second on 433.
Now compare to Broodtwister mysthic, where top 3 are frost dks, and there’s generally good representation on top 100 from both frost and UH.
And again repeat the process for Sikran and the nexus princess (2 pure ST fights), again very low representation at the top.
If the world’s best players are struggling to reach for those to parses on those bosses, I wouldn’t beat yourself up about your 750k parse. You’re doing ok. DK just aren’t the single target blaster that were during DF.
Cleave though, quadratic scaling goes brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Generally though if you want some tools to check your performance yourself, just compare your parses to other players on a similar level to you. Not necessarily the top 100 ones as those parses are probably from top players that have recleared countless times and play around with their team mates to align cds perfectly etc.
If you’ve made a green parse, look up to players who are parsing blue. Compare your damage profile, what’s similar, what’s different? Do they have more PI and augvoker buffs? Did their raid pull something differently? Hopefully you won’t have any of that info clouding you judgement, and you can focus exclusively on the damage profile (IE are all your abilities ranking in the same order)
