So basically you want crit because it gives you more procs of crit which means that stat which affect core mechanic of spec devalue itself.
You want haste because of fast GCDs=fun and runic generation.
You want mastery because is pure % damage increase.
You want versitality because you want to survive 1 more second in pvp.
And my problem is that two most fun stats are worst(pvp)? I mean common what is more fun ? having fast gameplay because of gcds or having 10% more frost damage…having more killing machine procs or having 5% less damage taken.
For fdk it seems that every stat is super good and super bad in the same time.
Tell me how it is. Because i am considering playin frost dk but there is no way i am not playing full haste build because the fun difference between dk with fast gcds because of haste and one who have like 8% haste is day and night.
pve = mastery > haste > vers > crit
pvp = vers > mastery > haste > crit
mastery is only slightly better than haste simply because of our base stats. you want a minimum of about 10% haste scaling up to a max of about 20, while keeping mastery as high as you can. dont waste your time with crit
Crit + Mastery if you’re 2H Obliteration Spec.
Mastery + Haste if you’re BoS build with DW.
if you’re using 2h obliteration spec its still haste/mastery
Crit is not a hugely important stat as dk’s need to stack a lot of it to see a real difference, and that would make us lose too much mastery.
Haste is far more effective as it increases rune regen and ofc decreases our gcd within burst meaning we get far more throughput.
The obliteration talent also kinda makes crit obsolete because we get guaranteed KM procs in our burst window regardless of our crit chance
i remember something about KM having a 3 or 4 PPM as a safeguard for bad luck
So far i know, it does lesser the value of crit, but not enough to make it less valuable than haste. Just because of how powerful KM proccs are.
This right here is the biggest issue.
we dont have anyone that really cares or plays us int he deciciosn making circles, plain and simple, everything points to it now.
Wrong, i do way more damage topping metres in nathria (surprisingly) with crit and mastery DW oblit than frost dks who do haste mastery, 10% haste is the sweet spot imo
It would be nice if they gave frost strike a bit more oomph tho… It sux to need a 2-2.5k crit hit to do a 5.5k-6.5k obliterate proc crit in our POF window. And other class can do 8k in theirs with one button.
thats the fate when both of our resource systems are both builders and spenders (with major builder damage penalty and not much spender oomph until KM rank 2, and even with it leaves froststrtike out to dry because BoS exists)
Ye the design is way to crap. I would rather see somehthing different making the KM procs then auto crits and obliteration. Look at POF Obliteration. Its nice damage boost when you actually can hit the targets with something that triggers it in the first place. While other class have just flat extra damage on top instead of needing to proc it first to. So we have a burst window and still need proc something for that burst in that window…
But guess that why it shines in PVE and not in PVP.
For frost, this is like as far away from true as possible, it takes 1 minute to get to know your stat priority if you do a quick stat weight sim, or by looking up what the top frost dk-s use. As long as haste is above 8%, crit becomes the second best stat to have, but most people have haste below that. Also, if your mastery is at 56%, then crit becomes your best stat. But the one thing you will always see is that they never have low crit.
