So I perform basic glacial spike combo: I start casting glacial spike and at the end of cast use flurry with brain freeze proc followed by ice lance. I expect the glacial spike to shatter and crit around like 80-90% of the time.
I have done hours of testing I cast glacial spike only with brain freeze proc and on a single target and I always end up with like 40-60% crit on a glacial spike. I also tried a short-range and long-range rotation. Results are the same regardless of range.
What is weird to me ice lance works fine I get consistent 85-90% crits on ice lance.
Some one noticed that also? Am I doing something wrong am I missing something?
Because your crit is 20%. Shatter multiplies crit by 1.5 and adds 25% so your crit at shatter is 55%. Ice lance number is probably off because FoF procs which are guarenteed or if your using any freezing abilities your more likely to catch a frozen target with an ice lance than after a 4 second glacial cast.

Shatter adds 50% crit though… so if you have 20% it makes 1.5*20% + 50% = 80%
Hence why the crit cap is 33%, because you reach 100% with shatter.
As for your crit problem with GS, I have no idea. I guess you weren’t hitting a 2nd target with Splitting ice right ? Because that would lower the overall crit % per hit
