Frost Mage Rotation and Talent Question

Hi,

I started playing frost mage when Shadowlands launched this week. I have no previous experience and keep learning this class.

2 days ago, I started doing normal and heroic dungeons using my leveling talent. That talent helped me to maintain ~1.8k DPS while I equipped items level 140.

Today, I switched my talent to Mythic+ talent. However, my DPS went down to 1.2K DPS in the heroic dungeons and less than 1k in the mythic dungeons when I am equipping items level ~160. While others (2 hunters) were doing +2k DPS!

For the rotation, I execute the following rotation:

  • Icy Veins
  • Frozen Orb
  • Blizzard
  • Flurry
  • Ice Lance
  • Mirrors of Torment
  • Arcane Explosion
  • Frostbolt

Any help please? Thank you.

It’s all about ice lances, switch to lonely winter and splitting ice. Save mirrors for bosses and mini bosses. I think you use blizzard on cd on just 2 or more targets to get orb up faster.

IF can be better for sustained aoe than rune and very handy when you don’t know the dungeons.

Thank you Minnji for the reply. I changed my talent and today I am going to test the rotation espeically the frost combo.
