Yeah so my dps in raids appears to have been fairly trash, if not absolutely dire and so I’m wanting to check I’ve been performing the correct rotation. I realise I could upload logs but it seems easier to me to simply post the rotation I’ve been using, so as to establish whether or not that’s the problem. If it isn’t the problem, I could then upload logs, if I so desired.
cast Frosbolt until Brain Freeze procs or (if Ebonbolt off CD) 5 icicles
if less than 3 Icicles:
cast Frostbolt and Shatter it
if 3 or more Icicles:
continue casting Frostbolt until 5 icicles and then:
if Brain Freeze has procced, shatter a Glacial Spike with the proc (i.e. cast Glacial Spike then Flurry);
if Brain Freeze hasn’t procced and Ebonbolt is off cd, cast Ebonbolt then Shatter Glacial Spike;
if Brain Freeze hasn’t procced and Ebonbolt is on CD, cast Glacial Spike only if more than one target (I’m running Splitting Image), otherwise cast Frostbolt until Brain Freeze procs.
Other than that, cast Blizzard on CD if 3 or more targets.
There’s nothing wrong with that on paper although there are better builds/rotations these days. You can find the info on the pinned messages on the altered time discord.
I had a quick look at your logs, I would recommend linking them over to wow analyzer, it will pick up on any basics your missing.
Simply find an existing log of your character on Warcraft Logs, and copy the report URL from the address bar
I don’t know how to do this. How do I do this?
I went to warcraftlogs . com and looked up my character which i found, but I don’t see how to view my logs.
Oh and by the way, I’m thinking that the problem is just too much downtime, but just wanted to eliminate the possibility that I was doing something crazy in my rotation.
Scroll down and click on the boss, then scroll down again and it shows you your pulls, just click on your dps number.
It can be hard with the amount of movement in all the fights now. It gets easier to know where to stand when you really know the fights. Just try and move during you flurrys and Ice lances if you need too, don’t forget you can shimmer and not interupt your cast especially those 4sec glacials.
The other 2 builds offer a bit more movement. NoIL build, you usually have ice lances you can use if you need to move and the frozen orb build has an all ice lance burn phase and no 4 sec casts.
Ok thanks a lot. It seems only 2 of my fights have actually been logged, both of which I was actually playing Fire. However, having taken a look at one of them, the information seems to be quite telling, revealing the major points that my Combustion rotation has been wrong, I haven’t been using Rune of Power and haven’t been casting Meteor nearly often enough as well as a number of other less important points.
For the Blackwater Behemoth fight though, it says something like ‘No data available’ for some reason and I wondered why that was.
