I desided to check other mages on Rio, warcraft logs etc, to see if there’s any changes. in 8.2 I’ve missed.
I then notist ALOT of mages stack mastery instead of crit/haste, several of the highest damage mages in m+ had like 11-13% crit!
I then red a post where they said: “If you dont use Ice Lance, stack mastery”.
What? Isnt Ice lance a huge thing taken frost orbs procs etc? Flash freeze seems to be rather good still aswell. What do you do instead? Might be a stupid question but Im so confused.
On single target there is a “build” that’s called noIL (no ice lance) and for now it’s stronger than the other 2.
The build is the same as the normal frost, the main difference is that you don’t use ice lance, so you just build icycles, fishing for BF proc, and then dump you GS followed by Flurry (no ice lance after).
This is pretty much our top single target rotation right now.
You can dump your FoF procs when you have to move or when you’re sure it’s hitting another target (with the talent splitting ice)
Yeah in some dungeons during some weeks (affixes) it’s probably better going with the orb build, I still have to test it with the new gear.
That requires a different set of azerite pieces and stats as well.
wait a second, it is to my understanding that if you talent glacial, ice lance no longer launches the icicles, therefore why should you not use ice lance?
i understand the glacial, flurry, but why no ice lance later?
Anyway i wont ever use glacial spike, it’s just not a fun spec to me, i prefer the faster icelance, flurry procs etc, at least i have something to do other than spamming frostbolt, tried glacial in legion and did not like it.
Gotta be honest, I hope things stay as they are. It’s a different way to play the spec should you choose to do so, nothing wrong with a bit of creative variety.
I personally play full IL build because I don’t find fishing for BF procs to be very fun.
Holy moly, i just looked it up, and it’s strong af, it’s basically like the ele shammy igneous potential, but i don’t mind honestly, because it has a good impact on the gameplay from the looks of it.
I am willing to forgive traits that are just way stronger as long as they have a good effect on gameplay.
