Frost: Problem with macros (ebonbolt vs frost bolt)

Hi!

A simple macro /castsequence reset=45 Ebonbolt, Frostbolt, Frostbolt, Frostbolt…
When I use this macro, I have to wait until the end of the cast of the previous spell, in order to initiate a new one.
But when I use just frostbolt spell, I can start casting ~0.3 seconds before the previous spell is finished.

This makes a significant difference on how the game feels to play for a frost mage, since almsot all we do is cast frostbolt.
Does anyone else have the same feeling?
Is there any possible solution to this?
Is it deliberate action taken by blizzard in order to discourage us from using macros?

I’ve aready turned off all of the addons but this makes no difference.

Well, I believe it’s simply working as intended.

Pretty sure castsequence worked like this even before ability queueing was added, so not really. They just never changed how it works, and that they prob did deliberately.

Thought it had something to do with needing an ability to finish (and hit/dodge/miss) before it continues. Not entirely sure whether this is correct.

Anyways, not using a castsequence macro would be the solution, they’re not suited for all cases. Can’t say that it has much value if it’s just to alter between Fb and Eb.

Any macro like that would be useless except on a training dummy. Pretty boring too.

Ugh no, am not some accomplished raider or anything but I don’t think that’s really true.

Personally: icy veins, orb, spam lance as orb gives you procs, blizzard to reduce cd of orb, frostbolt X5, ebonbolt, spike, lance to shatter the nova from spike, frostbolt to another spike in between you squeeze Lance’s to use the procs, blizzard is off cd, recast for orb cd reduction then back to lance spam when orb starts etc etc…
