R1 m+ mage here. Just got back to wow and found out frost mage spellsplinger.
You proc random winter’s chill that you cant predicit, cant use ray of frost glacial spike anything - all dmg loss most of the time. Spam ice lance, but worst part is the random proc of winter’chill. Sat 3 hours figuring out how to predict when that is happening and make WA for every scenario but just was not possible to make anything good around it. GG
You get random proc of winter’s chill and you want to spam 1-2 ice lances as the SAME moment that winter chill is beeing applied. And remember ice lance has travel time so its insanly hard even if you can predicit it. You have to cancel your frostbolt cancel your glacial spike cancel ray of frost whenever you WA tell you that its about to proc.
It feels super clunky and not enjoyeble at all. I have played frostmage for 10 +years and I have never felt it was this annoying to play. And by the way if you dont try to time your icelance to perfection when winter chill random proc, you loose splinters and that is = HUGE HUGE DMG loss, less orb resets and less dmg.
The core idea behind splinters is decent if you did not have to think about anything and all was passive, but that random proc need to be removed and the dmg loss from that need to be built into the spec in another more predecteble way. You cant have a spec that needs advanced weakaura to be slighly playeble and stop every other cast your are doing - and not be able to predicit what your next spell is going to be.
