Frost what am i doing wrong?

Hey,

are my stats crap or my Gear or traits, tryin Grong Nhc and only stand at Boss, keeping Sindra up to 20-25 sec and tried a perfect Rota and landed slightly above the Tank…

Is Frost that bad or did i something very wrong?

I mean even with my Ele or Dk i did 14-15 k Dps and they have lower gear.

Maybe someone can give me a quick overview about stats traits and so?

Or maybe i shouöd switch to monk and Tank :-p

Edit my Dps was 14.2 k but overall dmg seems quit low .

Frost dk is one of the classes that relies heavily on haste. You need runes back asap or you will be autoing half the time. On top of that you need luck to get your obliterate and howling blast procs.

The problem I have with frost is that after BoS is done it’s kind of boring to play and not very competitive. Obliterate doesn’t hit hard at all for the amount of runes it costs imho.

Unholy has kind of the same issues. When your army is done you’ll be 20% above everyone else on the meter, only to slowly drop down cus you spend 2 runes on festering strike and then hit for mediocre damage with scourge strike while waiting half the time for runes to come back.

If you had a perfect rotation and gotten some procs in the meantime (which you should have had since breath did last reasonably long) I don’t really know what advice to give you. There is a reason why top guilds don’t bring a dk to a raid other then for their grip.

go full mastery, get as much mastery u can get, frost now is heavily dependent in mastery levels (10 lvls is still “usualy” a upgrade, check a sim)

on non rings, non trinkets
mastery>>>> crit > versa/haste

if u want single target the traits are a bit spread all over
but for m+ the remorseless winter trait (frozen tempest) is the best, get 3 if possible with glacial storm

if u keep a 14k steady dps in a raid then i dont consider that low

I think my biggest mistake was i talented frostscy in single combat, lost around 134 k dmg, not much but every dmg counts:-)

Thx for the help, changed a few things and did 18k on Champs Hero, think this is okay?

Atleast someone who knows his frost dk. I really thought haste was everything for all dk specs. More runes equals more damage, in my mind anyway. I guess you learn something new everyday!

For some reason I couldn’t see your profile so I couldn’t check out your gear or ilvl…Ah well.
Not even sure what spec you’re in but guess frost?

Weapon runeforging:
Main hand: Rune of Razorice
Off hand: Rune of Fallen crusader

Priority gear stats:

  1. Mastery;
  2. Critical Strike;
  3. Versatility;
  4. Haste.

( however that depends a bit on what drops so, but any gear with a slot you can put an approperiate gem in )

These are the talents I have chosen, that I thought made more damage, I could be wrong so take it with a grain of salt, but maybe I’m right, who knows:
Inexxorable assault
Runic attenuation
Asphyxiate
Frozen pulse
Wraith walk ( cause you just gotta get away fast some times )
Frostwyrm fury
Breath of Sindragosa

Tricks:
Use Frostwyrm in combination with Pillar of frost ( if it’s a troll race, add racial Berserking to it, big deeps )

If you’re dying, pop Anti magic shell and use Death strike, it heals you for more HP when the shell is on.

With normal attacking I make a rather steady 10K dps, with Pillar of frost and Berserking + Frostwyrm I do 20+K on a dummy in zuldazar.
Dunno if I am really bad or not, can’t find much reference to what Frost should do, all I know is that I’m kinda in the top 10 at least in world bosses and LFR, but maybe everyone else is really bad and I’m just mediocre aswell.
