Why does this zone look better than other zones? It may just be me but I feel like in terms of graphics it’s the most eye appealing location in WoW, and it still is. I feel like they tried something new there, I can’t exactly tell what it is exactly, but I was wondering if someone experienced in this field could tell me why this location looks so much different aside of the tons of snow.
The lava and mountains.
All the WoD zones are beautiful.
Frostfire is a little hard for me to stomach these days, 2 years of WoD in the Horde Garrison. But it’s a clean and crisp zone.
It’s my least favourite WoD zone.
WoD deserved better…
Because it feels like an actual fantasy world.
It’s so big, so vast, no buildings, just huge mountains, snow deserts, giants walking around. It feels like a world. It gives me the same feeling of those panorama shots in Lord of the Rings when they zoom out over the fields and hills of new zealand, looks great.
Unlike the zones in expacs like Legion and SL wich, while they are good in their own way, feel so cramped, and small, like everything is stacked on top och everything else, feels very artificial and themeparky
Blizzard devp team spend allot of time on this zone also shadowmoon vally look good sadly we never use those capital citys such as froswold keep and temple of karbor that blizzard promise. We got only those bad garrsion and the other zones didn’t work draenor felt to me smaller then oitland zone that much popular and feel bigger and fun or maybe it’s just me.
The best is Shadowmoon Valley mate, WoD zones in general have always looked more graphically dense to me than newer ones, higher polygon counts, better art design, everything. Literally every zone is amazing, especially the Tanaan pre-patch version after the Dark Portal intro. Frostfire is amazing due to its contrast, snow and lava with visible vapor and steam emitting where they clash.
Also this. We’re desperately lacking vast enormous zones that lay out before you when you enter them. Most WoD zones are like that except maybe Spires but Spires probably has an even better “opening moment” when you come in and see the tower blasting the refuges below. The enormous skeletons in Frostfire and seeing Gronns and genesaur whatever he’s called fight it out in Gorgrond sells the fantasy more than Bastion’s pigeons ever could.
Snow.
It makes everything better.
…are delicious!
contented crunching noises
I loved that zone…the story and especially the music was great!
It’s not even the most eye appealing zone in WoD, that would be Shadowmoon Valley.
Disclaimer: I guess tastes can vary. You’re welcome to like snow if you want, I don’t like it that much.
