Hello guys! Was tested Frost/Unholy Dk on beta. And i have some questions. A Night Fae covenant ability is Death’s Due is
Enemies damaged deal 1% reduced damage to you, up to a maximum of 15% and their power is transferred to you as an equal amount of Strength.
So i cant reach +15 % of STR coz from 1 use this ability we just have a +11% and i cant renew this buff because cooldown is 30 sec. You can only do it with unholy dk talent is defile where cooldown is 20 sec. Why make such an ability where you can’t reach this point by frost dk or unholy without defile talent.
And so strange synergy (no synergy) with talent of soulbing Niya with last talent is Grove Invigoration.
Its works like - sometimes you gain 1 stack up to 10 for each stack you have +1%max Health and + 35 (now) mastery for each - AFTER when you use Death’s Due its starting tick 30 sec and your stacks is off.
So Mainly from one side my goal maximize STR Buff +15% uptime by Death’s Due(so i cant reach it without defile) and from other side if i want take max profit from Grove Invigoration with 10 Stacks ( +10% max Health and 350 mastery) ill need dont use Death’s Due ability for it near 5-6 mins of fight. ( 10 stacks reach near 5- 6 mins of fight).
I see here bad synergy with this talents. Hope Blizzard wil fix it. Tell us what you think about this.
are u hitting more than 2 targets with deaths due?
to have a garanteed perma 15% boost u need defile and legy where deathcoils drop the DnD/defile CD by 2 secs
Leg is ok but if u have more that 2 targets its one result = 11 stacks
UPD yes my fault with more targets its works!

deaths due nerfed to 8% max
Finaly, now we can go Necrolords like we should.

as much as i would rejoice with this, the small detail of the frost exclusive addition to new deahts due is that it allows Obliterate to cleave in a semi passive manner, that is huge if you are going 2 hand slamjam style, and we are yet again in the same boat as “pre nerf”
I totally refuse to join the happy family of forest keepers. I am death and destruction, and no ability, no matter how powerful, will make me change my identity.
Point this Blizz.

both venthyr and night fae are on even terms now i supose.
in my opinion, fae ability is strill more versatil than venthry for blood, however venthyr give alot of RP generation. but the venthyr soulbinds look better.
hard choice, having said that, the choice is not permanent tho

I’m 100% PvE. Maldraxxus is the worst for it. It piss me a little bit off. Currently it isn’t a hard choice not to choose it.
Funny, i have mates who pick the class after the covenant. That’s stupid.

“hard choice” - I believe that is a good thing.
deaths due will make obliterate hit 2 targets while on it
good news for those 2H obliterators out there
I’ll be Maldraxxus no matter what, and i’ll make it work, somehow.
However it will still feel like i’m missing out a lot because i chose the “wrong” covenant.
I swear they made it tied to the least “aligned” DK covenant just to spite us 2 hand users. The cleave potential i mean.
How’s that good news? It just made the Night Fae BiS for frost as well. It should’ve been a baseline effect, not something that’s tied to a covenant.

I dont know what it more maddening, that this is how they designed it, or the silence in how it’s even worse in pigeonholed frost/2hand frost is now in the covenant choices
Just try to remember, Forestmourne hungers…
wait… really? Did they just made the most lore unfriendly choice into our “only” choice if we want to be competitive?! I start to think that they gave us the 2h frost because of all the asking but in the same time they try to make it as unpleasant as possible just out of spite.

in all fairness, they should make that while using a 2H u should be able to hit 2 targets with OB on normal DnD BUT that would require nerfing OB dmg in pvp
Wouldnt surprise me if they nerf it because it’s strong in Night Fae.
