FSR still broken since 10.2

The FSR has been broken and reduces your FPS by 50 percent for 9 months now. Switching to DX11 from DX12 reduces it by maybe 30%.

It’s supposed to increase your FPS, not lower it.

How to reproduce the issue?

Turn FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0 on
Move the render scale slider under or above 100%
See your FPS tank
???
Profit

Have you tried turning off ray tracing?

It has nothing to do with raytracing.

While in general you are right that the renderscale is broken, FSR is not the problem, any other upscaling method gives the same result.

Does it? I didn’t know since I’m using only FSR. That makes it even worse.

Yes i did some intdept testing and posted the results in another thread.
Seems to me that the renderscale somehow is using too many CPU cycles because even in Valdrakken it lowered my FPS by about 20, even at 33% resolution
In the wilds uncapped from 300ish to 160ish.

Also supersampling costs more than it should, else i would run at like 150% with my 4090 to enhance image stability.

I noticed it too but only when inspecting people my FPS would get cut in half.

They should get a fix for this and add DLSS while at it. I used to run FSR at like 83% (could be 67% Quality if they updated the version tho), it’s wild we’re still on FSR 1.0. It increased my FPS by around 10, which helped me hold 60 fps in Valdrakken, before it broke.

wait since when is FSR broken ive used it for ages ?_? i play at render scale 91% on a 2070Super, should i reset it to 1000%? playing on 1440p !

Since 10.2. When you switch back to 100% render scale your FPS should go up by a lot.

hmmm im ngl i loose dps when i set the scaling to 100 instead of 91%

It’s the exact opposite for me. With 100% render scale I get 160 FPS with 98% I get 90 lmao.

That’s because some people will actucally be GPU limited before they are CPU limited in WoW… sounds strange but well…

Is it not about time they fix and upgrade it to the latest FSR version + framegeneration by now FPS has’t been that great and framegeneration would work fine in wow.
