I decided that I would download an addon for all the glyphs for the dragon and fully upgrade it and I am not disappointed with that decision.
I couldn’t believe that they didn’t put any sort of time-gating on it or restrictions, which is something that should definitely be taken advantage of.
I’m running through all the quests now with my ALT character because it’s account bound at lightning speed. I probably cut the time to clear the first zone by 70 percent from just never having to wait for vigor and always being able to be on the go, benefiting from the speed boosts, recharge rates and extra vigor, flying directly to quest givers and locations faster than if I was paying for a flight.
I see people questing on regular mounts or unupgraded dragons and I’m outpacing them so badly they might as well be in a wheelchair while I’m in a fighter jet, it’s like we’re not even playing the same game.
I did the same did thing after i got my first dragon,i opened wowhead to see where all of the glyphs were and went to take them all,it took me about 2 hours, cause I’m an idiot and apparently don’t know how to ride a dragon properly
Yea and by the time u unlock them all u could be 5 lvls higher . Yes it makes things easier , but when it comes to actual speed in keveling on first char there isnt much difference
You get so much more vigor and you do it once and it applies to every other character you have, that means leveling professions and questing, maaan, I pity the fool who doesn’t take advantage of the way it is now, i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a bug and they change it back.
Must is a strong word
The sheer fact, people are able to collect the glyps basically 3 or 4 vigor and can get to A to B is the proof, it is not a must
Helps? Definitely! Makes life esier? Totallly!
It is a must?
Hardly
I don’t like people who play games like you do. Discovering them on my own was super fun. I kinda only lacked one per zone. Yeah sure, okay, finding the last one is a bit annoying because the map doesn’t have text or tooltip for micro-zones? Areas? Whatever. Find that last one or two on youtube.
But just getting all of them without playing the rest of the game in thea meantime? Miss me with that [redacted] [redacted].
Each one has their own priorities.
For me what was most important was to be able to travel more efficiently while doing every quest possible as well as harvesting nodes.
As well as doing every flight race until I get gold time
However I like to play that way, because it preserves wonder!!
For instance on one of those quests where you have to find a welp in a tower, I spent 30 minutes jumping and scaling rocks to get on the roof, because I was so tired I completely missed the ramp!!
YES!!, I did a few mutley impressions, may have even micro-abraded my teeth, but when I got on the roof I felt awesome!!!
That’s what I have been doing this expansion, not using Wowhead, just blundering around and being distracted by every bright shiny thing, it’s been lots of fun.
So maybe you are right, people aren’t always playing the same game, because sometimes the majority of it all, takes place inside their own head!! (grins)
I’ve been questing and collecting the glyphs and such as I go. Expansion is 2 days old - no need to be lvl 70, fully geared with everything unlocked - ok if you’re a world first raider, then that’s different I guess - but for me there is no rush to get these things.
Sure it improves the dragonriding, and when I get to alts that will certainly be a bonus for those characters. But to spend all my time getting those things first? Nah not for me - I prefer to take my time do everything and enjoy the expansion - without guides and addons telling me where to go and what to do - after all, it’s only new like this the first time.
As we Pandaren like to say… “Slooow down!”
(I’m aware that different people like to play in different ways. Obviously people should play however they enjoy it the most).
Wait as much as you want because I don’t have to prove anything to you. Nowadays I barely have the time to play. If you’d rather waste time and whine because “muh speedrunning streamer doesn’t use dragonriding” that’s on you. But if you deny the speed nd advantages of having full glyphed riding, that’s delusional at best.
OP is def not my kind of player!
You only have to get the glyphs on your main and all your alts have access…meaning you only get one chance to experience the fun of going round and discovering them yourself!
Im not going to waste that and cheat my way out of an experience I wont get again.
What Im doing is flying round the zone and checking out where I think I might find glyphs then later on checking out the acheivement tab (which tells you what areas to find glyphs), then if I get really stuck off to Youtube, which Ive done twice for this first zone.
