Fun GM joke followed by a bit of sadness

So I made an online ticket about an issue unrelated to what I wish to say in this post, and a GM was kind enough to answer and very helpful in solving my issue (I gave top rating and can’t complain, in case anyone was wondering; I think Blizzard’s customer support is very good compared to that of other companies).

But what caused my sadness is that the GM noticed I am playing a priest main, and ended as it is customary with a joke. The joke was this: "Before I go, I can see you’re playing a priest which gives me a perfect excuse to tell my favourite WoW joke: Why do Priests make good lamps? / Because they Lightwell! "

At first, I thought it was pretty clever and I laughed, but then I remembered: it was pruned from the game. :crying_cat_face: Thinking of the pruning always makes me a bit sad.

I shed no tears when Lightwell was chopped.
Nice in theory - rubbish in practice.

Edit - I tell you what I do miss though… T’uure popping in occasionally to say Hi.
I may or may not have said hello to him irl each time - depending on how much wine had been consumed of an evening.

You were lucky enough to get good service from a GM. Last four or five times I was in contact with Blizzard support, I got nothing. Every time that was me reporting a bug - eg, that I cannot complete a quest or an achievement because <the description of the bug, multiple tries, bla bla bla>, and wanted them to complete it for me, and all they said is that they won’t do a thing and that I might try to report a bug somewhere else. When I was reporting similar bugs earlier (pre-Legion), I was actually getting things solved in that the GM would re-file my report into their bug database and help my char get past the bug. This stopped happening.

i always get great customer service from Blizzard

that’s not being a shill or whatever, they’re just always great for me

This thread contained exactly what the title promised. I leave fulfilled.

And yes, Blizz CS has always been kind to me as well.

It’s perfectly possible. All my interactions with Blizz CS were really great so far, but it could simply be luck of the draw, lady Fortune is usually on my side.

Oh what was lightwell? all i ever saw was this wierd bowl of light, but I dared not to click on whatever diabolical device it was.

Asuming it isnt sarcasm.
It gave free heals and made the priest life alot easier.
You needed a heal as dps.
Press the light well.

A pity they removed it.
It is one of those things that arent needed by are just great to have.

Blizz has the best CS.

I’m not sure anyone is surprised by this lol.

I believe the same in-game item was used to serve 2 purposes - one positive & the other… not so much.

Which name served which purpose, I forget (my Priest alt. is rather ‘dusty’, atm)…

From my experience only english customer support is good at their job. Once by mistake I made ticket in polish version and it was no better than bot, that not only throwed useless unrelated to subject link but also locked it as resolved without my permission! that never happened in eu version!

I dont know what version you contacted but let this post be a warning for all other language options

funny enough we even have lightwell in hearthstone

Your transmog is beautiful, I want that set so badly ;_;

But???
Why???
It is free healing.
Why woudnt people spend a single click on free health???

DPS LOSS! /10char

I am at a loss for word at that level of stupidity.

I would never walk 10 feet to touch that thing if it was still on today. And loose my short window of enrage? NEVAH!

*Smashes Bloodthrist *

Sadly I’m not joking. That’s the attitude of some players.

Ah yes, the wonderful support. May it never deteriorate!
9 out of 10 it was always a pleasant conversation, even when they couldn’t provide the help or answer I was looking for.

And for those 1 out of 10 where it goes a bit wrong, its usually resolved with some polite complaining/explanation why you think you weren’t given the best attention at the time. At least that has been my experience.

So I do wish the Customer Support team a happy holidays, that they know they are appreciated for the effort they put in dealing with us grumpy ones and that they can have a nice rest and recharge the batteries. You guys deserve a raise… though from what I hear, most people at Blizzard do. :stuck_out_tongue: (that was a bit cheeky!)
