I know people are saying warrior, but honestly, I found Monk to be the more fun melee spec. Levelling a warrior is essentially raging blow and rampage, then whirlwind when you got nothing else to press.
Monk rewards you for never pressing the same ability twice in a row. Not to mention their mobility is unmatched. Karma will quite literally heal you to full, and touch of death melts faces. Their main cooldowns are quite low too, which is really nice. Seriously, if you want a fun melee spec, then go Monk.
Personally my favourite is ele shaman. It’s a little slow in the beginning, but at around level 40 it starts to pick up when you get lava surge for insta cast lava bursts and lasso (I use the essence that allows me to have lasso in pve at 120)
If you’re new to the game and have a hard time deciding on a class my advice would generally be to pick a hybrid (a class that can fill multiple roles).
These classes are warrior, paladin, priest, death knight, shaman, monk and druid. Also, don’t be afraid to try the different roles.
Hunter in demon form aka Demon hunter
Fury warrior was the most enjoyable expereince I had with levelling. You feels like a brutish badass, mowing enemies down.
As a warlock main for a long time, but no longer:
Warrior or Death Knight (DK) is something I found fun. As a DK I enjoy the mob pull ability, aoe and other aspects. I’m leveling my DK up currently and am looking towards unlocking the rest of the talents at those later levels. My warrior is 120 and I’m randomly gearing her up, currently I have her as protection spec. But Fury is cool too.
For me, it’s more engaging than hanging back on a warlock/hunter/etc (I have three hunters, two of which are max level.)
As you may have noticed, people have different opinions.
My recommendation, is to play a class with more than one role. something that can play more than just dps. A warrior, to tank and dps. A death knight. A druid to tank/heal or damage. at least you won’t get bored so easily.
While they may seem intimidating at first, It’s a good experience to try other roles in dungeons while you levelup.
When i wanted to level an alt, i visited every class subforum on both US and EU to read what people say. 90% of threads are QQ and whine posts about this or thar class being total sh1t.
So its better you choose yourself and dont rely on forums.
Fun is pretty subjective. A lot of people say that DH is one of the most fun classes and Ret Pala one of the most boring. To me it’s the total opposite.
Creste a bunch of trial characters and try out the classes for yourself.
its up to your personal taste , prot war is fun the other speccs are horrible . but im pretty sure others would disagree on this
