Why does it want to use your camera and stuff even when the app is not in use?
Because you got the option to use directly your camera or to import from library.
With camera you can see the shape of the head to help the AI doing the work, what will be moving or not.
For example for alleria if you take only the hair the AI will hardly understand the hood. But if you take the hood with it, the hood will move with the head, so that why i took with camera Alleria

Shouldnāt use the cam when the app is not in use. Too shady. Donāt really care too much but giving my face to chinaās facial recognition program is kinda dumb.

The Android permission manifest documentation doesnāt mention two different kinds of rights for the camera (background and foreground) but just a camera use. Iām not sure what you saw / what was displayed, but an app can generally not use the camera when not in use afaik.
Furthermore only one app can use the camera at a time since the hardware-api is blocking, so it would make no technical sense to even allow background-camera usage.
You can however join their support Discord and ask them, I guess.
(my reply implies that you have an Android phone, I have no clue what apple is doing)

Are you sure that is the right link? Cause that one dowloads the video instead play it. Normally on my discord I need open it on a new browser page and then copy the link else discord will give me a dowload link.
Im not sure why it does that. I hit Copy Link from discord 
Even if I do open link it still downloads it.

send computer-> Discord
Download on your smartphone on discord the picture
Use directly from library
Crop it with teh square so it take the head
And then redownload the result on discord and then link it
I kinna like my attempt better because I can see at least some expression in the eyes
