So monk gets another Single Target buff, Fury will not receive anything.
Sure enough Arms will get buffed (and still suck, but atleast a little less).
Here’s the problem though… They nerfed Fury’s set toghetter with the Necro Glory legendary because it’s ST was ‘too high’ and AOE damage is the niche.
But a monk with higher AOE damage again as it’s niche, does currently the same ST damage as a fury warrior, and they receive a buff…
Where is our Necro revert blizzard? Or atleast our tier set revert?
DK is prety solid right now though. Since they have a choice between AOE spec (Frost) or ST spec (UH). We are sadly stuck in the choice of an irrelevant spec or an AOE spec.
As we can see Fury goes way and way down even in M+. The “niche” a Fury has, is better filled up with SVs, Destrus and WWs and the ST is garbo. I was predicting even before tset release, that warrior wont hold its good spot and here we go.
Well, this just means i got to play my SV more which i already do. im courious for Arms next week though
well im finally done with caring about that Maybe ill swap arms and just make here and there keys for fun with the warrior, higher i dont even bother and log my SV (which makes insane fun and has AE complete on range).
Fury just needs a bandaid Aura Buff for probably 8% or more till Dragonflight to be considered a good class.
In M+ you always have:
Warlock
Survival Hunter/Windwalker
Windwalker/Fire Mage
And after that comes Rogue into a void.
Into Fury/DH and other mid-classes.
Fury doesn’t bring anything that’s close to Survival Hunter/Windwalker as a Melee, they can somewhat compete with Rogue but that’s it.
Survival has more damage overall, better utility and a Immunity.
Windwalker has WAY more AoE Damage, probably equal ST Damage and way better Utility and Defensives.
Rogue is just always great with high prio damage and immense amounts of utility + Venthyr.
Fury has a ST Stun, Rallying Cry, Intervene (lol), AoE Slow and the AP Buff (which is like Monk Buff I guess?).
The defensives are equal/weaker, Utility is worse and the dmg is also worse, so why would you ever invite a Warrior over Survival/Windwalker/Warlock/Rogue when they have no niche where they are better, they literally are worse than those classes at everything.
Raiding-wise they’re also only in the bottom third and dont contribute something great besides the AP Buff and Rallying Cry.
Warrior just feels terrible overall, all 3 specs. But I guess Arms is at least good in PvP and got some buffs to be decent choice in the raid.
I wish we would just get a bandaid for now so we can catchup on Monk/Survival Dmg so we have a chance to play High M+ even though we dont offer as much utlity.
Hopefully the Talent Tree in Dragonflight will give us better Talent Choices for more AoE Burst or AoE Stuns/Utility spells. Until then you can just let your Warrior rot lol
Agree with everything, Except arms is even god awefull in pvp.
In Arena’s you gotta play glasscannon fury warrior and hope you can nuke down opponents before you run out of steam
EDIT1: At the start of 9.2 Fury and WW were very similar, Both AOE Niche’s with good AOE damage (not broken) and kinda mehhhh ST damage, BOTH classes. But monk always had great utility.
Necro banner for warrior got nerfed because it provided warriors with a good “kinda utility” ability and it would make warriors ‘too OP’ (in their words).
EDIT2: Meanwhile they buffed Monk over the moon and now they’re absolutely busted in every aspect of their kit.
I guess it’s safe too say if you want too play strong classes, looking at the history, you can just reroll Mage/WL/Hunter/Monk and u’ll always be atleast OP in 2/3 patches every xpack…
I have cancelled my subscription because of this joke of a ‘balancing’ team. I don’t even ask too be the top spec, I just want too be viable…
Will continue playing TBC classic untill my time runs out though
to me warriors are still holding there ground… there haven’t fallen all the way down there still in a grade C melee dps rank and thats a good thing with fury in Grade B it just down to what dps style you like and yes atm hunter and etc are better but all this talk about them being overpower will become dust as in dragon flight all melee dps classes will be equal cause of the new tree system so i wouldn’t worry about it as there doing pre-patches so for all you know they will get a nerf.
for me warrior is my cup of tea as others are way too demanding while arms and fury warrior have reached there limits and thats a good thing while hunters, rogues and etc can reach it but only for a while.
i’ve seen on youtube mythic and raids arms and fury warriors still keeping excellent dps so saying there going down is a understatement
(2) Set Bonus: Raging Blow damage reduced to 10% (was 15%).
→ Revert it back to 15%. This would provide an average of ±1k extra dps in ST situations if they reverted this.
(4) Set Bonus: Duration of Recklessness granted reduced to 3 seconds (was 4 seconds).
→ Reverting the 4 set nerf is questionable because it stays an RNG proc.
Simple: Revert the 2 set nerf OR the 4 set nerf (No need to have both reverted) this way we can be middlepack in raiding and stay where we are in M+.
Arms warrior:
Arms Warrior 2-Piece — Colossus Smash lasts 3 sec longer and increases your damage dealt to affected enemies by an additional 5%.
→ Make it 5 seconds OR 7% dmg. It feels so underwhelming…
Arms Warrior 4-Piece — Tactician has a 50% increased chance to proc against enemies with Colossus Smash and causes your next overpower too gain 2% strength up to 8% for 15 sec.
→ Actually a nice passive set bonus but could use the buff on 2 set I spoke about here.
I am unsure how much this would buff Arms warr AOE damage profile, if at all.
But it would deff help define Arms as a more ST focussed playstyle, while Fury is defined as a more AOE focussed playstyle.
