It’s really frustrating to see Fury Warriors getting hit hard again, both in PvE and PvP. I believe things should be fair and simple - if a class isn’t good at something, they should be great at something else. But these changes ignore that completely.
Why are you ruining Fury Warriors? They already struggle big time in PvP with no way to survive or control the fight. Now, it looks like PvE will be just as tough. It’s already hard enough for them with needing specific gear and two big weapons, and now you want to make it even worse with this mastery nerf, all because you’re worried about Raging Blow being too strong in PvP.
There are lots of ways to fix this, but it seems like we’re just repeating the same mistakes. It feels like a broken record: “Fury warriors, switch to Arms…” or quit the game because it’s just not fun playing a spec that can’t keep up, no matter how good your gear is.
The word ‘again’ here is the odd thing.
Unsure if sarcasm or not.
“Hit hard again”
Were fury not S tier in all of Classic, half of TBC, and literally S++ towards the end of Wrath and pretty solid since late ulduar? So it’s the first patch they truly fall behind (in cata). Don’t be so dramatic, you still have a performing spec (arms)
Ps. Coming from a warrior main, I don’t think we’ve suffered at all actually, compared to many other classes/specs.

fury vs arms in pve whats the difference %dmg wise?
game breaking? or only applicable to min/maxers?
If you only find it fun to be top dps or what ever you have to follow whats hot at the moment, your enjoyment comes from seeing big flashing numbers on the screen not gameplay.
On the other hand if your in a more casual guild will it matter?
Turn off the numbers play the class/spec you find enjoyable and spend time with your guild mates killing stuff, might take you longer, might take more tries.
Its hard to have it all - I like the fancy pets you get with beast mastery hunter but BM tends not to be top spec…

Well, regarding the sarcasm, as a dedicated Warrior player, it seems like my point might not have come across as intended. I’m talking about balance here. Fury Warriors have been top-tier since classic, especially in PvE, which is understandable considering how gear-dependent the spec is. Naturally, when you’ve put in the effort to grind out the best gear, you should see high performance, right?
But have you ever seen Fury perform as well in PvP as Arms? Honestly, not really. And that’s okay. If a spec isn’t great at one thing, it should excel at another. Give PvP dominance to Arms, that’s fine by me. I’ll stick with Fury for the enjoyment it brings me.
However, the proposed nerfs to Fury seem excessive. It feels like we’re being pushed into playing Arms if we want to be competitive in both PvP and PvE. Personally, I prefer PvP over PvE, and I’m okay with Arms being the go-to PvP spec with its simple rotation. But now, it seems like Arms will reign supreme in both arenas, leaving Fury Warriors in the dust.
PS. I understand if you don’t see it from my perspective, especially coming from a Paladin. We all have our own bubbles.
I main arms, it’s pretty chill, or it will be when we get the rest of our toolkit
(Didn’t realise there were two pallies in this thread)

Changed character if that makes you happy? / Anthiela
Idk you just feel entitled, some expansions specs perform better or worse.
If you’re not happy just reroll or try get more into arms, both PvE and PvP. IIRC fury was never intended to be a PvP spec to begin with?
And if you TRULY love fury, i’m sure anyone who excells at the game could reach high rating and make it viable in PvE too, you just wont be FOTM and “the best”

In PvE, Arms Warriors shine from start to finish, commanding the battlefield with their strength and skill. But in PvP, they encounter formidable opponents from top-tier classes like MM Hunters, Sub Rogues, Feral Druids, Unholy Death Knights, Retribution Paladins, Shadow Priests, Demonology Warlocks, and the ever-dreaded Mages. Adding to the challenge, Fire and Frost Mages excel in both arenas, highlighting a frustrating lack of balance in the game.
hey mate I understand what you mean the fury wars on cata are not that good but on wotlk TBC/BC they are very solid class. but the nerf was absolute waste and there are much more stronger classes that should have nerf.
PS: sorry for my english it is not my first language and there is allways room for improve

Honestly they need to delete the fury spec it’s for little crying babies. Arms is for the real men.
Sounds like very childish opinion, ty for nothing
Im glad, fury is the most stupid warrior spec there is. No brain ret pally spec.
You sound traumatized
Comparing Retry Paladin to Fury warrior is also very funny, I don’t see any fury warriors running around with immunity bubbles or insane proc heals with almost same burst… Nope, so ty for opinion mr. cow, it was helpfull to the topic.
Can’t wait to kick you out of dungeons and raids
Last I checked, Fury has been top tier dps spec in every single expansion until now, I think it’s about time for them to take a back seat for a bit and let other shine.

I am glad arms warriors can shine again, my favorite spec, but yeah understandable, in wrath it was another way round: “go fury warrior, arms is trash”
Blizzard didn’t ruin Fury Warriors on purpose, at least not in 2024 they didn’t. This is the result of Fury getting nerfed going into Dragon Soul in 2011 and them overshooting the mark. Fury will be useless for Cataclysm though, unless they fix it.
And I don’t mean useless like in WOTLK where they eventually got decent and then good due to scaling, Fury will scale but only by Dragon Soul, to be mediocre and undesirable even then. Arms will be king unless they reverse it. Originally Fury was very good in Cata prior to Dragon Soul.
In WOTLK Fury was only top tier in Icecrown, with Shadowmourne. It was better than Arms, but that’s only because Arms was rock bottom, getting a 99% parse as Fury in Naxx and being just above the tank on Patchwerk is hardly top tier. Having specs being completely useless is not fun for anyone. In Cataclysm originally, Fury was very good prior to this massive overcorrection, that leaves it useless.
Oh no, one spec is not OP every day every extansion.
