Future for Activision games in Belgium

So I just noticed that Diablo immortal got removed from the play store for me. I live in Belgium.
Considering that Call of Duty mobile is also removed from the play store for people in my country, and assuming that the following is true:

Does this mean that I won’t be able to play ANY of activision’s games on mobile? Including the eventual Warcraft game? And if so, isn’t that against discrimination laws?

No company is obligated to launch a product globally. Sometimes a county simply has laws that make certain products impossible or the company does not consider said market profitable.

Could be any reason.

My guess? The lootbox laws.

Yes, and Belgium will not be the first. I can see in 5 years or so all of the Europe having similar laws. What will companies do then? We don’t know (do the loot boxes make enough to ignore Europe?)

How do you figure discrimination comes into play?

I instantly see people referring to the lootbox laws, but there are no lootboxes confirmed for Diablo immortal?

I’m not allowed to play the game because I’m Belgian.
Is that not discriminating?

Yet the one country in Europe that has specifically outlawed them is removed…

Not because you’re Belgian, because you live there and you have to follow the law.
You should try to stop seing discrimination EVERYWHERE, kinda boring…

in-app purchases are confirmed, I’m not 100% familiar with Belgian law but at this point obviously everyone’s speculating

It’s not discriminating, there are a lot of implications when offering an app / a service / a product in a certain country and you can’t force anyone to do so.

I have blocked access to an app I worked on from a country because they were sending me support requests in their language, which I don’t speak.

Racist ? You should explain me.

You have the same attitude

Well played. I’m legit unsure if you’re trolling or that clueless.

Regardless, I’ll step out and get some popcorn, this thread is going places!

if the world wasn’t as pathetic, eu, na, well the world would have followed belgium’s decision and not leave them screwed up for trying to protect their citizens (and doing the right thing)

eventually, the lootboxes will be banned and we know that

but it will take soo long..

Same attitude ? Do you know what does racist means ?

You used a controversal word for a thing that have nothing in common with.

One can only hope.

It’s not discrimination based on a nationality, if you’re a Belgian living in the UK you can play the things.

If it was a blanket ban on Belgian people, based on the fact that they’re Belgian citizens, that would be discrimination. But that’s not what we’re talking about here, is it.

Yeah but nowadays people have to put racism or discrimination or something else in their sentences to try to catch people attention. But they still don’t know what does it mean.

Well, looks like he got me on this, I gave him attention… My bad.
