Future Item request: Daylight potion

Similar to the Inky Black potion you can get at the DMF. I hope you guys consider putting in one that turns night into day at some point. I really don’t like playing when in game is at night. It hurts my eyes

Time to get those eyes checked!

There is a toy that does that:

Jar of Sandwarmed Sand

Wth, never even knew this existed…

** Runs to NPC **

Edit – 1 day cooldown… wtf’s the deal with Blizzard giving toys obscenely long CDs!?

Turn your brightness up.

So let me get this straight.

Most people who have issues with light have that when they see a lot of it. And your eyes hurt when it’s dark? How do you sleep at night? In constant pain?

As for night time, i’m sure a lot of people, including me, would actually like to see TRUE night in the game. Where everything is dark and hard to see. Gives a spooky feeling to the game.

It may be hard to fathom that someone has a slight accessibility issue that you do not have, but trust me that it is possible.
Navigating in terribly lit areas can be difficult - the entirety of Legion zones can show you that. It can hurt to squint, and raising the brightness cannot really erase the spots that go dark in the game itself.

This should not be so hard for you to understand, but I’ll give you a little help with it anyway. In lower light levels, it is harder to distinguish different colours, edges and items. You must have noticed this IRL - most people do by the time they are three or so - and for an in-game example, I would point you to the quest to find the crates in the quillboar caves in Stormsong. The extra effort to distinguish shapes under these conditions can cause strain if sustained for long.

So get some of the https://www.wowhead.com/item=124640/inky-black-potion that the devs have thoughtfully provided for you.

Some combination of Brightness and Gamma may help, sometimes. Brightness on its own may not make it any easier. But the result is somewhat washed-out, and far from enjoyable.

There is this item:

but at 10 TW Badges each, it is MUCH more expensive than the Inky potion.

If this is an ACTUAL thing and not just hyperbole (as I’m suspecting), then you should really get your eyes checked out because that’s not normal nor good.
More so because night in WoW really isn’t night; everything’s still much too bright for that.

Facts.

Check them.

This is very true. I try not to drive at night now most of the street lights on main roads are turned off.
I too find it hard ingame. It doesn’t hurt my eyes, but it’s quite hard to see stuff when I play at night. What does hurt is continuous squinting to try to see through the dark.

Well, that might very well be true for ACTUAL night. But nights in WoW are far from that. There is no absence of light; the screen itself produces light. Almost everything’s well lit. So I don’t see how such a condition could ‘trigger’ under such circumstances.

But; as it wouldn’t hurt anyone to have such a consumable; sure. Why not have a daylight version.

I would hope they make a toy that does the night effect. The game is so much prettier with it.

Max out brightness and increase gamma

Because we are not allowed to have fun not playing exactly how they wants us to

Sad but true

Disable it in rated PvP (if BGs and arena have night versions, idk if that’s a thing I don’t PvP) and I don’t see why not.
