Future of arena?

With the release of Plunderstorm my hope of something new for wow arena has never been bigger. I have had this idea in my head for so long and i wish the wow team could look in to an idea like following.

Just like Plunderstorm you choose in the top right if u wanna play the regular wow expansion or if you want to opt in to the arena. All classes will be available and of the same power (gear etc). You chose your class, play around with a build customize keybinds if needed and you press ready. Then you load in to a “mini world” where there are training dummys that you can practice your rotation on or duel others while waiting for que.

This way the spells could also be tuned completely different from pve with less issues.

I love wow arenas, even tho im no AWC player (but close ;)) I find my self wanting to play arenas but i don’t have the time or the energy for leveling, gearing etc.

To compare to other games. I can have a break from Dota2, the only thing that has change when i come back is that im now very bad after some time of the game, but i can still instantly que and play the game and all heros. That should be the case for arenas too.

1v1: No healers or tanks
2v2 normal/rated/shuffle - No tanks or dubble healers
3v3 normal/rated/shuffle - No tanks or dubble healers

DRs and Spell/proc tracker built in to the gamemode but other then that, no addons.

It should be something that you logg on to when you have 30min to play but something that makes you wanting to play for hours and hours without the need of committing all the time it takes to actually be able to play wow arena (gear, rading, etc). Even tho much of that is not a thing anymore im stuck playing the few classes i have time or energy to level, even tho i would love to play other classes and specs too.

Completly agree that this has a chance to make wow arena/shuffle good and popular.

The consequences of this changes would be a pick and ban system , which is great in terms of balancing - because pick and bansystem naturally counters or dampens the meta, and gives the players a tool to counter some outstanding classes, instead of just accpeting you have no chance.

On top of that all ,Solo Shuffle q time would change drasticly if players q up with their battlnet rating(ratings across all specs/rolls/classes) and in the lobby itself people get too choose between classes specs and rolles.

Now every spec/rolls/class should have his own specific rating, so people who are outstanding on one spec highlight this.

It’s something which I mentioned before but got heavy negative replies.

The game needs spell pruning. And addition of basic addon / weakaura functionality to the base game.

If you make the game less-button bloated and less-complicated, and add the UI things, suddenly people will be able to play more easily.

Remove conquest cap. Remove relation between conquest and pve gear item levels. Make conquest gear super easy and fast to get. Add more rewards.

Suddenly you will get thousands of players back and thousands of new players in.

People enjoy Plunderstorm because it’s fair. The only advantage your enemy has is how much they have played the game compared to you. In WoW arena this is a much bigger problem simply because the playerbase is way too small. If WoW arena was popular enough, most new / lower rated learning players would mostly face eachother and not get frustrated from getting destroyed as well.

Broo! I love that idea. Just think of the AWC mindgames in the picking phase holy moly. Not even that. That would force you to play classes and specs you normaly dont play.

Imo mobility and cc needs to be prunned. They should make 3 option nodes in the talent trees for CC. For example you either have Storm Bolt or Shockwave, Fel Erruption or Chaos Nova, Lasso or sth else. There is ton of these micro CC or just CC that is on the same DR. Instead I’d like Blizzard to revert CC duration change so CC becomes more valuable instead of dealing PvE damage and killing someone in the kick duration or because you broke the cast with micro CC.

Same thing has to happen to mobility both meeles and casters. Port, Teleports, mixture of Gust of Wind with Static and Unleash Shield, Fel Rushes, Rolls, Double Charge + Leap is just insane. Then casters can cast and meeles don’t need 10 micro ccs to stop everything from 20 yards.

I’d also love to see more PvP talents with risk->reward mechanics. For example instead of Judgement of the Pure give Ret something like Spell Reflect for 2-3 seconds that if he gets hit with damaging spell into it then Ret gains extra damage, extra movement speed and it’s snares removed for few seconds but if instead caster would kick/dispel into it Ret gets nothing.

P.S.:

Every mechanic granting auto dispel to the dpses in rotation should be gone. It’s just toxic. Instead give them snare removals for example.
