Fyr'alath the Dreamrender - probably one of the worst legendary items ever designed

true but not true at same time if you had a full time group of friends you could do pulls working around the bow and silence it was great.

I don’t enjoy this legendary. I’ve only died once to it and it was my fault for not looking at my boss ability timeline WA, generally always use it when I know for sure nothing dangerous is about to happen.

That being said, I still don’t like it. I play melee over caster because I enjoy the movement that comes with it. Anything that involves me being rooted just feels wrong gameplay wise to me.

The process of obtaining isn’t fun. The quests are really not fun, in fact they’re easily some of the most boring and costly grinds I’ve had to do. Only the final quest has something unique and fun, where you actually have an encounter you can’t afk your way through.

The ability is mediocre at best. If it was just the leap and instantly deals all the damage now that would be so much fun especially as a slowpoke dk.

Now in M+ it has some good moments of course, the maximum I’ve seen it do so far was 7% of my overall, which isn’t bad at all for a specific item! Works well when we get pulls that are between 4 to 6 mobs. Which then leads me to an UHdk specific problems.

The axe isn’t worth its damage on large pulls. Our quadratic scaling will do way more damage than the axe ever could. On single target rotation, the ability is also a dps loss as it means we can lose about 3 death coils which then means gargoyle will do way less damage.

I don’t know how Ret pawladins and warriors feel about it, maybe it’s better for them? I know that the 3 people that play frost dk say it’s still bugged for them so likely not impressive neither.

Sure it had niche use on certain pulls and with mob timers you could get something out of the silence, every minute (…) but it hardly made it great, the damage from Wailing arrow was bad as well.

If it was as great as the lesser gifted person i argued with earlier is indicating, it would would a mandatory talent in M+ now as well, but it obviously isnt.

It was a bad legendary, a 246 (HC) version would sim less damage than 252 weapon on ST, not to mention it had different item levels depending on how you got it and you needed an item to upgrade it to a higher difficulty version.

The damage increase on Fyr’alath compared to the next best weapon is way superior compared to mythic sylv bow and the next best option, so people shouldnt whine as much really.

Man can’t even tell the difference between receiving an aoe silence from an item just from having it equipped and having to spend talent points in a limited points system.

An aoe silence is ridiculously strong to receive just from equipping an item.

AOE silence with a 1 min CD, that didnt work in PVP, with a 2 sec cast making it useless without mob timers?

Are you being deliberately dumb or what? If thats so OP to you, why isnt wailing being used as a talent in DF? Christ you are not very bright mate.

I guess you can’t read in addition to not understanding the difference:

If it was ‘ridiculously strong’ people would use it as a talent.

As i wrote, 1 min cd, no pvp usage, 2 sec cast making it useless in pve without mob timers.

You clearly never had or used the bow, so please just hush.

The silence had niche uses, nothing more.

No, because it costs talent points in a limited points system.

Equipping the bow gave you the aoe silence no matter what, which is what makes it ridiculously strong.

Are you arguing the point of:

It was bad/clunky in the past, so it should be now?

or

It was bad/clunky in the past, so what did you expect?

:dracthyr_sweat:

Seems like this plus “It could have been worse”

Honestly given we’ve now had 3 “Random drop” legendaries and 2 of them aren’t game breaking, isn’t it more likely that the outlier was evoker’s being over tuned and not the other way around? Especially given the push to make evokers attractive to showcase the new spec.

Fyrakk’s is a good weapon, as a statstick. The problem most got, is that the on-use is not powerful enough to be fun.

As using it during CDs, or when you got CDs avaible is a DPS loss. On AoE specs struggle to fit it in, without losing DPS.

It got a 3 sec channel, with no reward, no big dopamine numbers. Making melee do a cast, is twice as bad, as any other. Especially high APM specs, where it feels twice as bad again.

So… Yeah, design did not hit a good spot.

Oh, forgot to address this:

You have people shotcalling which stops/interrupts/silences to use. The bow would be part of that and be called for when it’s coming up.

Like if the bow was in current season, it would for sure be part of the rotation to stops mobs from casting in pulls. The reason you don’t pick the talent is because -drumrolls- it costs talent points, you don’t get it for free like you did with the bow.

How can an AOE silence on a long cooldown with limited usefulness due to its cast time be ‘ridiculously strong’?

The amount of mob pulls in SL where AOE silence actually had any real advantage to silence more than one important mobs at the same time was also extremely limited.

You talk like this was some kinda gamebreaking ability on a 10 sec CD with no cast time, which is hilarious and only cements that you dont know what you are talking about.

95% of the time the ability wasnt used for its silencing component either in SL. But on CD for a slight AOE dps increase.

What are you two arguing about? Bow was also clunky, no question about it.

So what is the discussion really?

AOE silences are always strong, wdym.

Sure, AoE silences are strong?

I fail to see what the AoE silence got to do with the 2hand axe. As far as I know, it doesn’t silence. Bow and Axe both got a cast on-use (bow had traveltime too, no?), both are clunky, and both probably should’ve had half of their cast times at least.

He’s the one that said it’s a weak use ability. Then went on about the cast time being 2 seconds so it sucks.

I guess this is weak as well then since it activates after 2 seconds:

The bow had a cast, and a traveltime, it was clunky.

Axe got a cast and longer channel downtime, it also is clunky.

What is the point you are trying to make - this is not a sigil of silence vs bow debate?

That an aoe silence is in no way bad just because he doesn’t know how to use it, especially not when you get it for free just from equipping the weapon.

You do shotcalling for it.

Why are you talking about it, axe does not have anything to do with silence. Axe is not shotcalled.

The two topics are so far apart, you are lost in some sort of offtopic-pit
